The New Assistant
Ethan hated rich people.
Especially rich people who wore expensive black suits and looked like they had never suffered a day in their lives.
Unfortunately, his new boss was exactly that.
“Mr. Vale is waiting for you.”
The secretary’s voice made Ethan straighten his cheap tie nervously as he stood in front of the giant office doors.
Vale Corporation.
The biggest company in the city.
And somehow, after months of unemployment and overdue rent, Ethan had gotten hired as the CEO’s personal assistant.
“Try not to annoy him,” the secretary whispered before walking away.
Too late for that.
Ethan pushed the doors open carefully and froze immediately.
The office looked like something from a movie. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlooked the city, dark shelves lined the walls, and the scent of expensive cologne filled the room.
Then he saw him.
Adrian Vale.
Cold gray eyes.
Sharp jawline.
Black suit perfectly fitted against his tall body.
The man looked dangerously handsome.
Adrian slowly looked up from the file in his hand.
“You’re late.”
Ethan blinked. “By thirty seconds.”
“Still late.”
Wow. Definitely rude.
Ethan forced a smile. “Nice to meet you too, sir.”
Adrian stared at him silently for a moment before speaking again.
“You talk too much.”
Ethan almost laughed. “You judged that in under one minute?”
“Yes.”
What an asshole.
But suddenly, Adrian’s lips curved slightly into a small smirk.
And somehow, that tiny expression made Ethan’s heart beat faster.
“Interesting,” Adrian murmured quietly.
Ethan suddenly had a very bad feeling about this job.
Because for the first time since entering the office—
