“They’re using armor piercers! Guys, we can’t stay here!”
Cindy squeezed off the last few rounds of her makeshift gun before she went for cover.
“Glen, the only way out of here is through them.”
In disgust, Cindy looked at her weapon and released the gun casing from her arm. She threw it aside and said, “Well, I am out.”
Cindy looked over at Mark and Alex. They were in no condition to fight or flee. “How is he doing, Alex?” she asked.
“I stopped the bleeding for now. Cindy, we need to get him out of here as quickly as possible.”
An uncontrollable bout of laughter from sheer fear came out of Glen. “Are you kidding me? Didn’t hear what I was saying…”
“Glen!” yelled Cindy. “Shut up, I don’t need to hear this right now. One thing I know is that there’s always a way out.”
