The security his arms offered was all she ever needed. Even back then when she lost her dear brother, she needed someone who she could count on to hold her tightly while she cried. Her mom had her father and Hayley had Caleb, she had no one. But even though Mason wasn't there to provide her that warmth, the love that runs in his veins from his heart, he was there when she faced the council. There were a lot of vampires in the room. Five of them sat in old yet beautiful chairs like thrones while the other surrounded them. The room wasn't as bare as the hallway or the dungeons.
