Cracks in the foundation

304 Words
The tranquility between Lily and Sara was louder than any argument they had ever shared. Days and weeks passed without messages and laughter. That one strong unbreakable bond only exists as a memory lily and Sara replayed during sleepless nights. No matter how many patients she treated and cared for, she could not escape the mass of what she had done. Daniel tried to reach out to Lily first. He waited at her apartment one afternoon, guilt written all over his face. He talked about remorse and confusion, about how love had grown where it never should have. Lily payed attention, torn between the comfort of familiarity and the ache of betrayal. Being close to him reminded her of Sara- her best friend who she had lost. He did not chase her. He did not apologize. Instead, he watched from a distance, torn between his loyalty to Sara and the undeniable pull toward Lily. His restraint made everything worse. They shared a deep s****l intercourse with themselves. He couldn’t resist and proceeded to aggressively kiss Lily, pulling her into her room. He kept touching her coochie while she moaned in satisfaction, Lily dry-humping him until he came everywhere—heavy with consequence. He loved Sara, yet Lily had awakened something he could no longer ignore. When Sara finally got back home after months, she developed a new character- quiet, more reserved, but powerful. She confronted both of them, not with aggression, but with truth. Which was painful, tough and raw. Forgiveness was not going to be easy, and solutions were tough to find. Yet beneath the hurt, something unpredictable happened. What had once been betrayal slowly transformed into something fragile and uncertain a chance to rebuild, not as they were before, but as something entirely new. Because of uncertainty, the rules continued to be unstable.
