Demitri
I wonder what she will want if she wins. I hope she does. I only said that about keeping her to spur her on and make her work harder to do this.
Last night was strange. After I dealt with my little friend for his part in my warehouse, I went to bed. I slept in the same bed as her and everything.
Part of me feels she is right, and we should just end this here. While it worked and went well, I was meant to be at a meeting ages ago, but I haven't moved as she is here. I don't want to either. She fascinates me.
She gawped at me like she was shocked that I would kill her ex, yet...she quickly shrugged it off like she didn't care that I said I was going to kill him.
Most would have freaked out and run, but not her. Why? She appears immune or at least uncaring by what I said I would do. I'm debating if that is down to the fact she thinks I am joking or not.
I wasn't, I don't think anyway. Okay, she needs to leave.
“We will take you home, considering you don't have clothes,” I explain, and she laughs.
“How very nice of you. Most kidnappers wouldn't do that,” she jokes, and I nod.
“I have morals, not many, but some.” Standing, I grab the things I will need for the day and guide her to the car. Sitting in the back of it, I smile, remembering last night. With her tied up, in that exact spot, the way she fought, the way she spoke.
She's a firecracker, and I like that about her. For some reason, I'm obsessed with her, and this month will be painful. I've got into a routine of watching her, but I can't do that going forward.
It makes it easier for her to take me, so I will do my best to avoid going near her or watching her. We do need to make a stop on the way, which my driver already knows about. We broke her headphones. I remember hearing the smash followed by her anger.
The car stops, and she glances around, confused.
“I just have something to collect. I'll be one minute,” I explain, and I get out of the car. Walking into the shop, I head to the counter, and he hands the bag to me. I already ordered and paid last night.
As I got into the car, I held the bag out for her to take. She looked at it for a second before taking it.
“I didn't miss my men knocking your headphones and standing on them, so I replaced them,” I explain. She takes them out, and her mouth drops open.
“No, mine were basic ones. These are too much,” she mutters and stares at me.
“They are required. They have noise cancellation and a feature so you can hear voices around you clearly. Just accept them as an apology for what happened to yours,” I explain. She looks like she might argue, which makes me smile.
I'm a little disappointed when she nods and gives in quickly. The car stops outside her apartment, and I smile at her.
“I will see you soon, Demi,” I say while leaning forward. She nods and goes to get out but stops.
“What if we change things?” She asks and sits back down before closing the door.
“Change things how?” I ask.
“Well, rather than me having a month to kidnap you. How about we both work to kidnap each other and see who does it first?” She asks, and I laugh.
“You're easy to kidnap, Demi,” I will win. Does she not realise that? Or does she want me to win so I can keep her? The thought swirls around in my mind.
“I have a feeling it might be harder for you to do it this time,” she says while smiling.
“Okay, what are the rules for this?” I ask.
“No kidnapping from our homes. That makes it too easy for you, Demitri. You have to kidnap me from outside of my place—no other rules. We just see who gets there first,” she smiles, and I don't trust her.
I feel like she is up to something and hasn't told me everything.
“Okay, I will agree,” I say, but her hand raises.
“Before you agree, you can't have one of your men follow me twenty-four-seven. You have to do it alone. Kidnapping me fine use your men, but working out when, where and how, you do that alone as I will be,” she sits smiling.
I like this; it's more of a challenge, so I nod. “Deal,” I reach out my hand, and she shakes it. “I hope I win, Doll,” I smirk at her.
“I look forward to keeping you,” I whisper, and her body shakes.
“Good luck, Demitri. You will need it,” she laughs and goes to get out. My hand stops her, and I step out before lifting her. She peers at me, shocked.
“You have no shoes. I took you before you picked which ones to wear, remember?” I smirk and carry her into the building before placing her down. Smiling, she walks off, and her words from the car return to me.
I will need it. She's up to something. What, though? I honestly have no idea. I'm tempted to tell one of my guys to watch her, but that's against the rules. I also can't follow her constantly; I've other things to do.
Right now, that is finding Dean. Well, not finding him, I know where he is. I've had someone following him since I found out it was him last night.
Speaking to the driver, he begins the journey, and I soon find myself in one of my warehouses. Walking in, I see him tied to a chair and laugh.
“Ironic, we met because Demi wanted to get you in this position, and instead, she got me,” I sit on the chair ahead of him, and he glares at me.
“f**k you,” his words are loud.
“Oh, I'm good, thanks. I had the pleasure of Demi's company last night. Let's talk about my warehouse,” I say, and he stares at me. “I know it was you, Dean. Revenge right? For Demi f*****g me, or was it because she broke up with you over it?” I ask, and he glares at me. I feel it's the last one. He blames me for their relationship ending.
Not the fact he lied to her about being in a meeting when he was getting lap dances.
