Bella’s POV Sleep didn’t come easily that night. It hovered just out of reach, like something half-remembered. I lay there under thin cotton sheets, my body tense, my skin flushed one moment and chilled the next. The curtains stirred with the breeze, a whisper against the stillness, while the distant hum of the city pressed in through the windows. I couldn’t settle. Every part of me felt wired, restless.
