Seraphine stood by the window for several moments after the portal closed. The space where Caroline had disappeared remained empty, yet somehow it felt like her presence still lingered. A soft sigh escaped Seraphine. Then she turned ans er eyes immediately landed on a familiar figure standing near the entrance of the living room. She wasn't surprised to find him there. Seraphine simply watched him before she slowly walked over. They both stood there in silence, what could she possibly say to him. He had just let his mate go for the sake of the kingdom, yet he was acting like he was okay. She knew how hard it was for lycan to be far from their mate. But he had made the right decision and she knew it, but yet it didn't feel right. The only sound in the room was the faint wind outside
