Sienna Hart took a deep breath and wiped the sweat from her forehead before heaving the heavy armful of clothes out the window. Jeans, T-shirts, and socks tumbled down in a wild mess, fluttering like desperate birds caught in the wind. A startled laugh burst from her lips when a colorful pair of boxers landed perfectly on the antenna of a car parked at the curb.
For one ridiculous moment, they waved there like a flag of surrender.
Then an angry-looking woman stormed out of the nearby pizzeria, snatched the boxers off, and shot Sienna a sharp glare.
“Sorry!” Sienna yelled from her second-floor apartment, her voice almost breathless with bitter amusement. “I was hoping to hit him with them!”
