I couldn't look at Brax anymore, so I lay there staring up at the ceiling. The door opened, and Brax's father came in, clearing his throat. Brax stood up, going over to him with hope in his eyes. "I'm sorry, Brax," his father said. "Willow's stepfather has already signed the papers for her to be transferred. There's nothing we can do to stop it."
