Lana's POV “Hey – let go…” My protest stumbled and died, muffled beneath the steady strength of his grip. My fingers pushed weakly against his chest, but he didn’t budge, his jaw tight and unreadable as he carried me away. He ignored every sound I made, walking with those long, unhurried strides that said my resistance meant nothing. My chest rose and fell quickly, heart pounding as the evening air cooled my flushed skin. Before I knew it, I was lowered into the passenger seat of his sleek black car.
