Chapter 27: Shadows
Numerous shots rang out in the night. Some from Gino and more from Sander. All I heard was pop! pop! pop! More glass shattered within the room, echoing in my ears. I heard a humph sound, but didn’t know if it came from Sander or Gino. I felt drops of blood on my left cheek, but didn’t know why. Sander screamed something I couldn’t decipher. More shots echoed around me. I heard and felt bullets whizz past my skull on both sides. The sound was obnoxious and scary, raising the hairs on my arms.
The gunfire continued for the next minute, but it felt more like an hour. Panic rose throughout my entire body, and sweat dripped off my forehead and arms. Adrenaline pumped through my veins and felt as if it were burning my insides. I didn’t know what was happening or where Sande
