Chapter 6 Duncan wiped the heavy goblet dry and set it on the shelf below the counter. He’d been working at a London tavern for a few weeks now and the work was easy enough. The owner gave him a small room in which to sleep above the tavern, and usually he didn’t have to begin work until the afternoon when it opened. He reached for another goblet. He swept the floor, picked up refuse, washed goblets and mugs, simple tasks. He’d even occasionally served the ale and wine to the customers. None of it took any thinking or strength at all.
