A Date with Faith

Emmett POV
I lay in my hotel bed and replayed the image of her as she bound up the steps to her front door to let herself in. I could feel my wolf Titan stir again he was so drawn to this red haired beauty. She took my breath away. Her eyes shone like shiny green emeralds. She had me baffled she appeared human but she had a suggestive aura about her that made me believe there was more to her. When I did approach the bar she had become flustered as I noticed her checking me out, a beautiful blush passed over her cheeks and I felt an urge to reach out and run my finger over her beautiful full lips.
This morning when I had turned from Charlie's building and spotted Rick standing about a block away I had slowly walked towards him in a slight daze. He had nodded to me
"Morning Alpha" he signaled raising his hand and a black town car had rounded the corner to where we stood. I had silently sat into the back whilst Rick sat up front with the driver. The car drove back to the plush hotel where we were staying in silence and no one had uttered a word. I pulled myself up from the bed and walked outside into my suite to find Adam face down on the other bed a bottle of whiskey on the night stand. Some random girl was draped over him
Sighing I walked to the enterance where Rick stood.
"I really don't need a security detail here no one recognizes me." I snapped.
"I'm sorry I'm under orders from your father and the Elders" Rick replied. I sighed sometimes being Alpha William Sinclair's son really sucked. My father was one of the last pure blood Alpha's left. He ran the largest pack in the world, I was the next in line to take over and that was looming in my future soon. Adam had dragged us on this trip before we returned to Alpha and Beta training and settled down into our duties.
Pushing aside any thoughts of my pending responsibilities my mind wandered back again to the girl I now craved to be with. There was something about this girl she was mesmerising to me. I shook my head I needed to get a grip. I was not one to lose his mind over any girl.
Adam surfaced at the smell of room service. Blurry eyed and confused looking, my best friend and soon to be second in command Beta tossed himself onto the sofa next to me.
"Where did you go after the bar?" He asked.
"A Diner with that girl Charlie" I answered.
"She seemed nice. Cute as well" he smirked. "Good choice for a fling" he added.
"I'm not thinking like that and she's more than a girl you have a fling with. She's smart and funny" I replied before I managed to catch myself.
"And hot as hell." Adam pushed. "But if she was your destined mate you'd know it plus your a pure blood alpha and she's human so its a fling" he tutted
"Yeah she's pretty" I gave in. "I know she's not my mate in the traditional sense but something pulls me toward her" I sighed.
My wolf was bouncing around my mind but he didn't know why we were drawn to her either but he wanted to kill Adam for noticing she was hot.
"EASY BOY"" I told him subconsciously as we communicated in my mind.
"mate?" but not my mate?"" He panted
"Emmett I'm confused" he cried running circles in my mind
" You and me both Titan but you need to calm down" I warned. Titan was a calculated Alpha who was now acting like a puppy.
" Let me guess Titan is flipping out." Adam smiled taking in my glazed over eyes. "Leave the alpha wolf have an animal encounter, you never let him out to play" he laughed
"Thanks buddy but I am not a man w***e like you I don't f**k everything with a pulse?" I snipped
"Dude I'm a dominate male I have high needs. Maybe if you embraced yours you'd be less cranky. Let the wolf take over plenty of low ranking women out there ready to give it up to you. " he suggested.
"You're disgusting." I playfully punched him on his arm. Adam had always been like this, my beta was a womaniser and it often came back to bit him in the ass. I was no angel I had been with girls but I was careful in who I chose and to not give them have any ideals that they would be my Luna. This meant most my female encounters were cold affairs. Thankfully girls like that would often sleep with an Alpha just to brag about being with an Alpha, which kept the Alpha wolf desire to mate in check for me.
I quickly dressed at seven pm. Adam and the others had gathered at the pool side and were loudly drinking and wrestling there as I bid them goodnight.
Charlie opened her door , she smiled broadly. My breath caught she looked stunning in a pink cocktail dress and a small silver jacket. Her long red hair fell over her shoulder in loose waves. My pulse quickened. Titan roared in my head
" Mate" he roared in my head
" Impossible she's human" I snapped at him.
But I felt the same want Titan did she paused looking at me quizzically as if she could sense my mind was elsewhere. I shook myself and blocked Titan's antics in my subconscious. I suppressed him and shook myself.
"You look amazing." I stammered.
"Thank you Emmett. You look handsome yourself." She returned still standing on the step she leaned in to place a delicate kiss on my cheek. Titan howled and I felt him fight to surface. It took alot of will power to force him down again and not let him surface.
I linked her and we flagged a cab to take us to the Italian restaurant I had reserved. Over dinner we talked constantly, I couldn't believe how much she intrigued me. She was gorgeous, smart, funny and polite. She certainly had the manners of a girl raised to be Luna. I shook the thought from my head, I had never met a girl I could realistically see as my Luna and I couldn't start now.
We stood outside the restaurant as she flagged a cab.
"This was fun" she smiled. "How about I meet you at The Met tomorrow and we can be tourists together?"
"Great say two?" I suggested.
"Perfect" she leaned in and kissed me lightly at first then with more passion. She took me by surprise as a dominant Alpha I normally made the first move. I was amazed at how much I liked when she took the lead something I would have imagined I would have hated. She pulled away and sat into the cab. "Tomorrow Emmett" she waved as the car drove off leaving me standing there like a dumb love struck teenager.
I sighed thanking the moon goddess she had not kept kissing me or Titan and I both would of lost all control. This didn't make sense
As her cab disappeared I felt Rick at my elbow I knew he could see my wolf shimmering at the surface in my eyes as they were black with lust and want.
"Mate?" He asked confused taking in my appearance. " But she's human" he added.
" I need to talk to my father" I replied.
I silently stormed over to the town car that pulled up and climbed in.
Titan was whining and howling
" Your killing me Titan" I snapped at him in my head as he paced giving me a headache.
" Don't leave our Mate" he howled
" I'm not, this doesn't make sense she is human Titan, she has no wolf scent. I am an Alpha our laws of existence would not mate me to a human my pure blood alpha line would die and the moon goddess always continues an alpha blood line. There's something else at play here"
"Yea stupid human laws she is my Mate" he howled.
I put up a barrier in my mind to tune out Titan's pain and lust so I could think.
On returning to our hotel suite I found Adam in the jacuzzi with two random women.
I mind linked him speaking over our silent mind link we shared as high ranking wolves.
"Get them out" I roared in my mind at him using my Alpha aura and went to the bedroom slamming the door. I threw myself on the bed thinking "Damn it why is my Beta such a man w***e" I swore aloud
Titan responded.
"What is up with you he was always a man slut. Jealous?"
"Your supposed to be on my side dude. We are the same. You feel how I feel right now."
"not really I'm more primal then you and I WANT HER" he growled. I could feel his want and desire, his arousal.
"f**k sake Titan" I roared out loud.
"What is up Alpha? Why are you getting on Titan's case?" Adam asked barging into the room.
"Are they gone?" I snapped.
"Yes calm down." He smirked " really unfair that I had to leave two unsatisfied women down." He added.
"You are so disgusting dude" I replied swatting his arm.
"That is well established so let's talk about you and what is bothering you." He added.
"It is so weird I feel like she's my mate but she's human. I don't get any scent at all off her." He sighed. "She drives me and Titan mental. I feel so drawn to her" I put my head in my hands.
" Look she's human so bottom line is she cannot under our laws be your mate but maybe the moon goddess has given you this girl even briefly for some reason. You know this connection has some purpose so maybe just play it out. You know our laws state nothing happens by chance. Have faith in the moon goddess." He said.
I sighed it made sense in some ways but he didn't feel my pull to Charlie. I could feel Titan stirr in agreement with Adam.
"What purpose could this girl have in my life?" I said aloud
"Maybe she will lead you to your mate?" Adam shrugged.
"Is this the kind of logic you use to sleep around?" I asked him.
Adam smirked "The only question here is it the kind of logic you will use to dip your wick?" He winked and ducked out of the room laughing.
Titan broke through my thoughts
"Yup he is so right" he panted running back and forward in excitement.
"You would say that." I groaned
" Cut the act I am you. you and I feel the same. You want her as much as I do and you will have her. Man or wolf you can't help but want Charlie Tudor" he smirked sinking into the shadow of my subconscious
