The wedding ceremony was underway, though Aaron did not announce his presence just yet. For now, no one in the enormous crowd had any idea he was there, nor that he was observing the marriage of his fiancé to her step-brother. He intended to wait until after the ceremony and send word of his arrival to the king. He felt hesitant to do this, though, because of the smile on her face. It was a bright one, much like the sun above them. Aaron knew her smile would diminish once he announced his presence. He watched over the ceremony, which differed from the one she would have had in Rel with a profound sense of loneliness.
