Chapter Twenty Two - Reported

2129 Words
King Samael Albion Huxley I The sound of me flipping some papers was enough to make me calm, this day was tiring enough to meet with those slow-witted nobles. I don't even know why I conducted that meeting in the first place when I know what they'll respond to me. The meeting was completely useless. The ferocious beasts in the forest are nowhere around, this was troubling me after the first challenge. This could be bad news. Aside from that problem, Lord Romel Calypso was being difficult, he was infuriating me. They couldn't understand that I have my own choices first before I'll decide to allow them to pick. They're picking someone interesting in my book, and as a King do they think they can overpower me to decline that choice? I just shook my head and slammed that book closed. I don't even know what's boiling my blood so bad when I think of that woman. "Your Highness, are you going to descend to your quarters? We'll let the maid know about your soak," the knights and guards on my side asked, so I just nodded. "Make sure to have it ready after I come back from my stroll," I stated before standing up to leave my room, so they bowed before leaving my presence. Checking the slightly dim hallways after sunset was always my routine after my duty at the castle. Not long, I arrived at the hallways where I could sightsee the gates near the river of the Devon Kingdom where I saw a few warrioress cleaning up their dirty clothes. My eyes immediately spotted Aramis Bronx Davina, the bedridden warrioress and the voice of most nobles and richtians. Everyone's been planning and wanting to pull her out, and as a King, I wouldn't let someone interesting be out of the games that quickly. My body decided to stay and watch those girls do what they have to do in that river, I want to scold myself for doing this. This isn't me, yet here I am acting like I'm looking at someone I'm bound to pick someone from these ladies. I was about to leave when I witnessed something interesting that had happened, I chuckled upon seeing how Aramis Bronx Davina drowned the woman who poured the bucket in her head. She's one interesting woman indeed. She's really different from the rest of the women here, all of the warrioress here are so easy to read most especially the ferocious beast around the Devon Kingdom but to her, there's something different. I can't read her completely, which is impossible because I'm the King. I could sense everything but this is entirely different. My guards who're about to call the maids to ready my bath arrived and stopped those ladies and dragged them somewhere probably towards my office. I cursed before looking for some guest room to grab some clothes, who in their right mind would grab some women in wet clothes somewhere most especially in my office?! After I grabbed a decent dress or whatever this was, I swiftly ran to the hallways to come back to my room. Aramis Bronx Davina "Stop this deranged lady! Let me go!" Soriah struggled, but I'm strong enough to pin her down and just squirm against my hold. "No one's stopping me, so I pity you," I mumbled, which made her squirm even more as she squealed like she's being raped. "Let me go! You're deranged!" she complained, which made me glare at her. She doesn't have the right to call me that when she started this. "Are you ready for this game?" I asked, we're just about to start our dreaded game when we're stopped by some guards. "Halt! Don't mess around the Kingdom!" Those guards were forced to drag us away from the river and brought us to some enormous room where the King was waiting. Why did they bring us here? This is just plain stupidity! I really want to drown her just to get my revenge jeez. I just sighed and observed the King's actions, he looks stressed out. The King was massaging his forehead before glaring at the guards, "You brought these women here in that kind of clothing, wet and dirty in my office?" he sounded livid. "Y-Yes, Your Majesty," the guard answered, which made him sigh. "You do know that this isn't my problem to deal with this childish act," he added, which made me roll my eyes. Right. "We sincerely apologize, Your Majesty, we thought that we have to report this to you," the castle guards bowed, so he just sighed before he glanced at my appearance. He motioned his eyes from my head to toe and I forgot that we're wet enough and our clothes were fitting almost all our curves. The King slammed his fist on the table before glaring at those guards who are staring at us intently, "Call some maids and ask for towels, do this again one more time, or I'll kill you myself," the King warned, so those guards flinch before bowing as they left to get some maid. "This isn't my problem to solve, it's just a waste of my time but now that you two are here and making a mess around my office, you tell me what happened," he asked calmly, but his eyebrows were furrowed. I crossed my arms and averted my gaze when Soriah started acting like she was the victim here, "S-She started this, Your Majesty! She tried to drown me!" she faked her cry and I wanted to puke. Is she serious right now? This is not high school drama Soriah, spare me with your pathetic outburst or whatever this acting of hers called. "I wouldn't have done that if you guys just left us alone, we were peacefully washing our clothes and you poured a bucket of mud in my head!" I glared at her, which made her bite her lip before raising her brows at me. "She's lying Your Highness," she firmly stated, which made me laugh before pointing at my wet gown. "This is proof that you're lying," I glared at her, so we had a staring battle for a moment. He removed his cape before glaring at us both like he didn't like where this was going. "Alright, I don't have time for this, don't wait for the towels and leave my office," he ordered before checking some papers. "Make a mess in my office or even on the river of Devon Kingdom, I'll behead you two myself," he gritted his teeth, so we both piped down and lowered our heads. He sounded serious. "Leave," he glanced at Soriah, who just flinched before standing up. She bowed at the King before she smirked at me and left towards the door. She looks like she has won something when she leaves the office, I just shook my head and stood up before walking towards the door when the King was already there to lock it. My eyes widened at his swift movements, I didn't even feel that he moved that quick without making a sound. "W-What the--What do you want? As I said, I didn't do anything! I was the victim here!" I complained, but the King didn't mind me as he went back to his chair and looked for something in his drawers. "Take and wear these bedridden warrioress," he offered me some clean dress that'll probably fit my body. What the freak? Is this really for me? "Change here right now," he ordered, which made my eyes widen. What the hell?! "Oh my God, do you expect me to change while you're here?!" I almost exclaimed, but the King just turned his back on me while sitting on his elegant chair. "Get a cold, freeze to death, beheaded, or change, those are your options Aramis," he announced that only both of us could hear. I almost wanted to shriek because he just mentioned my first name, something feels very weird after he mentioned that word. I also wanted to complain, but I do feel so cold right now.  "Take a peek or I'll pull those eyeballs out of their sockets," I nervously warned the King, he amusingly laughed while shaking his head. "Oh, I wouldn't dream of it, bedridden warrioress," he sounded like he's about to burst into laughter, so I just glared at him. "Jerk," I whispered before sighing. "I heard that, watch your language bedridden warrioress," he warned, so I just scoffed and checked those outfits he gave to me. I slowly took off my wet clothes and undies and slipped into this clean and dry outfit. My eyes didn't leave to where the King positioned himself. The clothes he gave to me were a simple white dress perfect for a nightgown, weird...why does a King keep something like this in his drawers?  I just shook my head. After changing into some dry clothes, the King immediately turned around which surprised me for a moment. "Holy shi--will you stop doing things like that! You're giving me a heart attack!" I complained and fixed myself, I'm not wearing any undies and even though I'm in decent dry clothes I still feel naked. "Oh do I really?" A sly grin was plastered on his lips as he started checking some papers again like nothing happened a while ago. What is wrong with this Devil King? He's also giving me a headache! "I'm leaving now Your Highness, thank you for your generosity," I bowed just so he could avoid looking at my body. I didn't wait for him to respond and immediately got out of that room, I pressed my back against that large two-way door and held my beating heart. "Did the King just help me back there?" I just shook my head, that would be a miracle if that happened. I swiftly ran on the hallways and found my way back to the quarters, where I was greeted by them. "Aramis! What happened?!" Dahlia exclaimed as she checked my arms and legs like she's looking for something. "What are you doing Dahlia?" I confusingly tilted my head at her, but she just shrugged and sighed in relief before finally looking into my eyes. "I thought they hurt you or something, I'm glad nothing happened," she smiled and it looked like she's about to cry. She must've been so worried about me and looked for marks of wounds or scratches, she really is a sweet girl. "Yeah, and where did you get that dress?" Thalia curiously asked so I flinched before checking my appearance. "Oh cool! That dress looks like it suits you!" Dahlia squealed before twirling me around our small room. What would I say? How can I think of a lie about this one?! I roamed my eyes around our room before sighing. "U-Um, the royal maid gave it, the King ordered them to fetch it for us since we're making his room or whatever that place called a mess," I mumbled and slightly proud of myself for thinking that excuse. I don't know how they'll react if I said the King only got it for me, they'll not believe me either way so I think this is for the best. "That's a relief, now let's just hang these wash clothes and rest for tonight, we have a big day tomorrow," Thalia reminded us, which made me wonder. Wait a minute, that's right... why did we wash our clothes at night? "Hey, why did we wash our clothes at night? Shouldn't we be washing it in the morning?" I confusingly asked, which made them laugh. "We have things to do in the morning so we have no other choice but to do it at night," Thalia explained, which made me nod because that does make sense. "I just hope this won't smell since it won't dry up fast at night," I mumbled while checking my own bucket that they finished for me. Thalia and Dahlia decide to go out first to race to get some decent hangers as I glance at Loane who's just busy looking at me and us intently. She looks like she's bothered about something as she gazes at the faintly painted walls completely like she's enthralled by it. Did something happen to her? She looks weird right now. "Hey, Loane? Are you alright? Thalia invited us to hang these washed clothes," after I asked that, Loane flinched before looking at me intently. "Y-Yes I'm alright, I'll catch up with you guys later," she smiled and it looks like she's nervous and surprised about something. "Alright, don't take too long, okay?" I smiled, so she just nodded before rummaging something from her bag. To be continued…
