That was the shortest hour and fifteen minute English class of my entire life. The minutes felt like seconds counting down to what felt like my imminent death. My future flashing before my eyes. Trying to explain to Aunt Lucy why I've come home looking like a drown rat after what Jess was going to do to me.
Although Jess was dating Josh. She had staked claim on the entire football team, only Jude seemed to not be pushed around and perplexed by Jess' uncanny ability to manipulate and control those boys.
Jess had the world at her finger tips here, her dad was the CEO of a huge oil business in the U.S. 'Truman oils' was partnered with countries all over the world and also funded and sponsored many of the extra curricular and events within the school, and the city.
Jess Truman always had perfect hair and nails. Word around school was that she had her own personal hairstylist, fashion designer, makeup artist and numerous maids and cooks in their multi-billon dollar gated community sized house. Jess was perfect in every way.
Sam had told me the only reason that she was as perfect as she looked was because she had already had numerous plastic surgeries, even though she was still only in high school.
All only rumors, but who was that perfect!?
Jess stood 5'8" had a perfectly tanned caramel complexion, dark brown hair that seemed to shine as if it was a halo, and dark brown eyes that were like portals to the underworld.
Jess' entourage consisted of the entire cheerleading squad, plus every other girl who hoped to be on the 'in' with Jess. I had learnt fast that if you weren't on 'team Jess' you were a 'loser'.
Even Sam who hated Jess refused to go against anything that Jess said or did.
No one defied 'princess Jess'.
Rumor also had it that Zane had rejected Jess numerous times, which is how she ended up with Josh. Josh was Zanes best friend since they were knee high to grasshoppers, so Jess still got to spend lots of time trying to seduce Zane in their free time.
At 11:54am the bell rang and pulled me from my deep dreaded thoughts.
It was time to go meet Jude and find out what my lunch hour fate was going to be.
I packed up my books and sauntered out the classroom door. I walked with Sam to my locker in complete silence put my books away and heading out the front door to the student parking lot.
Jude drove a black BMW 8 Series Cabriolet convertible. It was a very nice car, and to Annaliese it looked like it probably had the price tag that matched.
Jude always parked with the rest of the football team in the back corner of the parking lot, I slowly made my way down the front steps and towards the parking lot, head down.
I took a deep breath and stepped my right foot off the curb after I looked both ways. In a flash, I heard squealing tires and horns honking.
I froze. Not knowing which way to turn or where to go. This was it, my end. I closed my eyes as tight as I could.
What felt like 10 minutes but was only actually 15 seconds later I heard hysterical laughter. I opened my eyes and glanced at the car to my left, only about a foot away from hitting me.
Josh was in the driver's seat, laughing so hard that he had tears streaming down his face. I expected Jess in the passenger seat but when I looked over I seen Judes cousin, Zane laughing also.
Anger coursed through my body, the colour red clouding my vision.
Just then Jude popped his head out the rear side window. "Liese, your just in time, hop in!"
"No way in hell am I getting in a vehicle with that manic!" I replied. Fists clenched.
"It's fine, he was just having a bit of fun!" Zane shouted.
I had just turned on my heel to head back into the library when out of nowhere I was thrown over a broad muscley shoulder and placed in the backseat of the blue Audi R8.
"What the f**k!?, put me down!!" I hollered.
Josh hopped back into the driver's seat and took off, out of the parking lot without a word.
I straightened my shirt and crossed my arms across my chest.
"Where are we going?" I snapped.
Josh made an abrupt left turn and I landed face first in Judes lap.
Jude helped me sit back up and gave me a smug look. "If you wanted me that bad all you have to do is ask Liese."
Zane mumbled something inaudible from the front seat.
Jude chuckled. "Good luck cuz!"
After another couple minutes, and a few more very abupt turns. In which one I hit my head on the window.
Josh slowed and turned into a driveway with a large iron gate and a security guard at it.
I looked up at the towering gate wide eyed. Wow.
"Where are we?" I blurted.
Jude chuckled. "This is Jess' house, Josh is picking her up."
Picking her up!? My mind went into panic mode. Don't these guys all know that she hates me!
"But.. but... wasn't she at school this morning?" I stammered.
"Yea, she goes home during third period so that she can change her clothes before afternoon classes. She has a spare." Jude stated.
"Oh." Was all I could muster.
Mouth agape, wide eyed I watched the gates open to a court yard.
It was breath taking!
