Violet's POV The rejection vow worked! Barbara fell to her knees instantly, moving close to Ethan. “Baby! Babe, are you okay?” She didn't dare touch him as he experienced another bout of pain zapping through his body. He jerked around like a wild animal. At the same time, I also felt pain rushing through me, but I swallowed it back, biting my tongue until I tasted blood. “What the hell have you done?!” Barbara screamed, glaring at me. “What did you do to him?!” When I didn't answer, she clutched at Ethan's arm again. “Baby, please…just accept the rejection. At least to stop the pain. I can't stand seeing you like this. Please!” I thought I would feel guilty seeing him like this, but all I felt was anger. He deserved every atom of pain he was feeling right now. Watching Barbara cling to him was so irritating. At first, Ethan was adamant about accepting the rejection, but after another zap of pain hit him, he accepted and the pain subsided. Similarly, my own pain began to dull as well. Barbara jumped at him in a tight hug, asking if he was okay, before whipping around to face me. “You f*****g b***h. You're going to regret this,” she swore. I was not moved by her threats. Even knowing that I might become a target to bear the brunt of her bullying and tricks, I did not give a f**k. Both he and Barbara could go to hell for all I cared. Without a word to either of them, I walked away, adrenaline still pumping through my veins. I still couldn't believe I'd just rejected Ethan, an Alpha heir. “Oh my goodness, Clara!” I called out to my wolf excitedly. "You were right, the rejection worked. I can't believe we did that!” There was no response from my wolf. Deciding I would try talking to her later, I rushed down to the school office to get my course materials and register for the new class I had applied for. Shifting and Combat was one of the most dangerous classes at Wysteria Supernatural Academy. Only seniors were allowed to take the class as it causes hundreds of casualties every year. It was a class meant to prepare werewolves for the dangerous world outside. And for the first time, I decided to add it to my list of classes for the semester. I arrived at the office and submitted all the required forms. Unfortunately, it took longer than I expected to register, and I ended up arriving late for class. “Clara?” I tried calling out to my wolf again just before I stepped into the class. But still, there was no response. I wondered if she was still mad at me for the argument we had at the doctor's office earlier when I subdued her. I wanted to go off into a secluded place and try to talk to her, but I didn't have the time. I took a deep breath and peeked through the window at the number of students already inside. My nerves were beginning to get worked up, but I tried to calm myself. A lot of people would say that I was too weak to attend this dangerous class, but that was the reason why I registered for it in the first place. I was so tired of being bullied, scorned, and laughed at by everyone in the pack and at school. I was done being their punching bag. I wanted to learn how to defend myself and get stronger. At first, I wanted to become stronger since I thought I was going to become a Luna for Ethan. But even now he was out of the picture, I didn't care. I just wanted to make a change. Taking a deep breath, I walked inside the classroom. I froze when I realized all eyes were on me. I suddenly felt self-conscious. The professor, who had been addressing some students, turned to look at me. His face immediately pulled into a sneer. Oh god, I thought shakily. The professor for the Shifting and Combat class was Gamma Mason. He was also a professor for my other courses, and it seemed like his goal in life was to make my life a living hell. Why did it have to be him of all people? “Are you part of this class?” He snapped at me. “Y-Yes sir,” I stammered. He looked me up and down with disdain in his eyes. “So why are you just coming now? Don't you know you're late? Do you think you're some kind of princess, huh? Coming whenever you please, like your father owns the place!” I cowered at his harsh voice, not knowing what to say. Already I could hear the Snickers coming from the students as they began to taunt me. “I-I am sorry, sir.” “Oh, shut up and leave my sight! Next time you're late, I will send you out of my class.” Nodding and apologizing profusely, I rushed to the corner of the hall and put my bags down. From another part of the hall, I heard Barbara laugh. “Sir, I think she might have lost her way. What is an orphan omega doing in combat class? Maybe she was scared and that's why she's late.” The rest of the class laughed, and I even saw the professor crack a smile. Anger burned through me. This is why I attended this class. Once I was strong, none of them would treat me like that again. “Okay everyone, settle down,” the professor's voice rang out. His gaze turned to me. “You, Violet! What weapon have you been using to train as of last semester?” “Umm…none, sir. I just registered for the class this week.” He huffed, but then drew his sleeves and beckoned to me. “Alright, we'll have to start somewhere. Shift into your wolf form and attack me.” I walked toward him, taking a deep breath. Instantly, I tried to shift, but nothing happened. Alarmed, I tried again, but still nothing. Fear gripped me and I realized I had lost my wolf. No. No, this can't be right. I tried to call out to Clara, but there was no response. “What's happening? Shift, I'm waiting,” the professor said impatiently. “I…I'm trying but–” “Let me guess. You can't find or communicate with your wolf anymore, right?” Barbara's voice rang out. The entire class gasped in shock. I assumed they were reacting to what Barbara said, but instead, their eyes were glued to their phones and a video was playing. I looked to see that even the professor was checking his phone. Craning my neck, I managed to get a view of what they were looking at. A short video of me standing in front of Ethan; an Omega rejecting an Alpha. I staggered backward in shock as fear gripped my heart. I did not expect the video to circulate at the school. I knew that Ethan's father, Alpha Jack, would not let me go scot-free for this disrespect. An uproar filled the entire class. “No wonder she lost her wolf. How could she be so stupid?” “An omega rejecting an alpha? I don't believe it!” “I wonder why the moon goddess took her wolf alone. The only omega in history who attempted something this stupid, died a painful death. Why isn't she dead?” “How could a lower class like her reject an Alpha heir?” They continued to murmur about me. None of them cared to know why I'd done it. They didn't know that Ethan was cheating on me. They didn't care to know either. My gaze moved to Barbara, who was looking at me with a smirk on her face. Anger rushed through me as I marched across the hall to where Barbara was standing. “I know you're behind this,” I told her angrily. She laughed. “Of course. If I didn't do it, how else would I be sure that you wouldn't come crawling back to him?I had to make sure the separation was publicized.” I wanted to smack her in the face. Why did she hate me so much? Before I could say anything, the professor called out to me. “Since you no longer have a wolf, you are useless and there's no point attending this class. Leave now, and return after you get your wolf back.” My eyes widened. I couldn't leave now. I couldn't just give up. I won't let myself be bullied out of this class. “I'm not required to leave,” I said. The professor looked surprised that I'd countered him. “What? “It is not stated that only people can shift and attend the class. People who can fight or learn to fight using their human side can also attend. That is why it is called the Shifting and Combat class. I can learn combat.” The professor was taken aback, but he grudgingly waved me away. “Okay then. Who wants to be a fight partner to Violet here? She lost her wolf, so she can't shift. Who is willing to fight her without shifting?” Everyone eyed me with disgust and no one raised their hands. Barbara laughed again. “I mean, what does a weakling like her have to offer her partner if not rubbish?” Everyone laughed again. The professor stepped forward. “Well, there you have it. No one wants to partner with you. You can't stay here without a partner. So, leave! I looked around helplessly and then picked up my bag dejectedly. It felt like all the plans I'd made were useless. Just before I left class, a voice echoed through the air. “Who said she didn't have a partner? I'm her partner.” I whipped around in surprise to see whose voice that was, and when my gaze landed on the tall and handsome guy, I sucked in a sharp breath. His face was unfamiliar, but he was absolutely gorgeous. Possibly the most handsome guy I'd ever laid eyes on. My eyes trailed over his silver-green eyes and his glossy dark curls, and I swear I almost started drooling. When I looked through the class, I realized that I wasn't the only one staring. All the class members were staring at the handsome stranger. Who is this demigod in human form?
