My Prince Charming

The Forceful Engagement

"Avery, wake up!" I heard my friend, Rachel said as she tapped on my hand.

I opened my eyes and found myself in my drama class.

"Avery, what is wrong with you? You often fall asleep in our drama class. Drama is your favourite subject and you are dozing off here? What is going on?" She asked.

It has been a week since dad told me about the fience. I cried a lot that day and big brother heard what happened and was really mad. He was very angry. He clearly didn't liked the idea that dad was making me getting married with somebody that I don't know, expecially when I am in grade 11. He assured me that I will not get married with somebody that I don't like which calmed me down a bit. But, I am working about that a lot lately and often work really late at night to distract myself. So, I get tired at morning and sometimes feel asleep on class.

"You are okay, right?" I heard Radi said as he looked at me in concern.

I looked at him and smiled a bit and then turned away. I still didn't give him his reply after he confessed. Our class started as we started to practice our play.

At lunch . . .

We were sitting at our table in caf and Rachel was talking.

"Oh my goodness! Did you guys heard it that there is a ball?" Rachel asked.

"What ball?" I asked.

"There is a ball in the royal palace for all the couples of our country. There is a small party at the beginning where all the citizen can attend but the ball is only for the couples. I need to find a partner, girls! But what about you guys?" She asked.

"I am going to the ball," Radi said. Obviously, he is the prince. He need to be in the ball and the party.

"I am not going to the ball," I said.

"What? What do you mean?" He asked.

"Yeah, I forgot. Rani, you know, Avery has a very strict brother so obviously, she cannot go to the ball," Rachel explained.

"Oh really?" He said as he looked at me and smirked. "Maybe this time, if her brother doesn't allow her to go to the ball, her prince charming might steel her from them."

I looked at him in shock and then blushed. What the heck?! He said that as if he is my Prince Charming. But I do want him to be my parter and . . . Arrrghhh! What the heck I am thinking about?! His stupid Prince is making me crazy! Sometimes, I feel like punching him!

"Avery has a prince charming!?" Rachel yelled.

"No!" I said.

"Yes!" Radi said at the same time.

Rachel looked at us in curiousness. Then she looked at Radi with interest and said, "Rani, does that mean that Avery has a boy friend?"

"No!" I said.

"Well, she will have a boy friend soon," he said.

I started at him as my mouth opened wide. Can't he keep a secret? Like goodness! This prince is so dumb and stupid.

"You will catch some flies," he said as he closed my mouth.

I pushed him away with embarasssment.

"So, tell me about his boy friend?" Rachel said.

"Well, he is very rich but like strong woman like Avery and . . ." He continued to talk with Rachel about that.

Goodness! I am going to skin him alive if somebody finds out that I like him. Wait! What the heck I am thinking! Arrrghhh! This stupid Prince is making my head a mess!
