Vaness looked at me then at the door and took a step forward to walk into the room but Emilio closed the door in her face. It had automatically locked.
She slowly turned in my direction. “Aria,” she forced a chuckle. “Wow, what are the odds? How did you know I was here?”
“I didn’t. I’m here to send my mom to the human realm and take my brothers back to the castle.” My mind went to the worst place. My heart rate picked up even though Grayson wasn’t around. Since I was half-human, sometimes my heart did beat faster when I was in distress. It was rare though. It happened when Grayson broke up with me before and when I was kidnapped the second time.
