Chapter 71
REX AND DONNY WATCHED Agent Brancasi walk the still defiant Mayor Romano out of his office in handcuffs.
“I’ll have your badge!” Romano growled.
Brancasi shoved him along, “Shut up, Romano, you’re done.”
Romano stopped in front of Rex, and Donny. He glared at Rex. “All I wanted was that coin. Why didn’t you just give me the coin?”
Rex didn’t answer, so Brancasi said, “Keep moving.”
“I’ll be out before the day is over,” Romano assured.
“You won’t be out until your grandchildren have grandchildren if I have anything to do with it,” Brancasi replied.
“I’ll be back!” Romano yelled.
“Get this piece of trash out of here,” Brancasi told two FBI agents who pushed him into the hallway. Brancasi walked back to Rex, and Donny. “So, how did you two end up here?”
