chapter 2::: meeting my fated mate

it was about a 30 minute drive to pack house as we pulled up my nerves set in and I started to panic my mother noticed my discomfort and reached back squeezing my hand "it will be okay hunny your father and I will be right here with you" she comforted and with that we exited the vehicle I stood next to the car looking up at the humongous house it look like a mansion much bigger than our old pack house but from what my father said this pack is a lot larger than our old one as we walked up to the house I had began to feel the pulling in my chest again chalking it up to anxiety I took one last moment to straighten my clothes and take a deep breath once we got to the top of the stairs my father knocked on the door and shortly after it opened and we were greeted by a tall gentlemen he was about 6'2" looking to be in his early 20s he had shaggy dark brown hair brownish gold eyes and tan skin a short neatly kept beard he was standing next to a petite woman at about 5' 4" or so she was light skinned that had been adorned with freckling she also had curly strawberry blonde hair that fell just below the shoulders and very unique eyes one was blue and the other being green they smiled as they greeted us" hello and good evening my name is Nicholas Hill gamma of the Crescent Meadow pack and this here is my mate Evanly Moss you must be the frost?" he asked taking my father's hand firm handshake" correct mr. Hill my name is Mason Frost and this is my wife Emma and my daughter Akayla" my father greeted warmly Mr Hill nodded and motioned for us to come in explaining that dinner will not be for a few more minutes and if we would like to wait in the living room my father nodded and he showed us to the living room as we followed. we had to pass through a parlor and suddenly out of nowhere I was blasted with the most amazing scent I've ever smelt in my whole life like wet Earth and fresh cut Cedar my breath caught in my chest and I stopped in my tracks looking straight at the door adjacent to the Parlor the group turned to look at me with a puzzled look on their face"wha......what's that room" I asked breathlessly" that would be our alphas office" mr. Hill replied curiously and I gave him a nod before continuing to the living room that was absolutely gorgeous it had cream colored walls navy blue sofas and loveseats and stained gray Pine end tables that held lamps and had a gorgeous White marble fireplace and beautiful paintings on the walls the curtains were a cream and navy blue following the scheme of the furniture and hardwood floors throughout we all set in living room my family on the couch mr. Hill and Miss moss on the loveseat I sat with my hands crossed in my lap as they had a conversation my mind was drawn back that door the alphas office and the amazing scent emanating from it I had never smelled anything like it as a matter of fact I've never been able to smell anything as strong as that not having a wolf My sense of smell was not as strong as most it was about that of the humans but I also noticed as we passed the room that pulling in my chest became stronger like it was urging me to go to the door and the butterflies in my stomach became intense being lost in my train of thought I hadn't realized I had actually gotten up for my seat and was heading from the living room into the Parlor watching the door intensely" sweetheart where you going" my mother asked inquisitively freeing me of my almost trance-like state I look back at her" I think I'm going to step outside and get some fresh air" I said trying to process what was just happening" okay dear be careful" my mother chirped I quickly made my way to the front door opening it while looking back at the office once more before exiting as I did I had accidentally bumped into somebody who was entering falling backwards and landing on my bottom looking up to see a tall girl with honey skin and hazel eyes and black hair she was tall probably about 5'8" if had to guess she scuffed looking down on me sitting on my bottom supporting myself on my hands" oh my God how pathetic watch where you're going next time this dress cost more than your life" she scolded as she ran her hands down her very expensive-looking mini dress it was black and strapless with what look like diamonds along the breast line it was probably about 4 to 5 in above her knee with a slight slit in the hip personally I could never pull anything like that off but I have to admit it did look amazing on her" sor... Sorry I wasn't paying attention it was completely my fault" I apologized" it certainly wasn't mine !"she snapped as she stepped over me so the toe of her high heel came down right on the tip of my middle and index finger I gasped elderly wincing at the pain now radiating through my two fingers" oops" she teased glaring down at me but before I can even react to her cruelty there was a loud booming growl and the once shut office door came flying open as we all stared in shock

Chase's POV

It was getting late just about dinner time Ethan and I were still in my office wrapping up some last-minute business we had recently had a few Rogue attacks so we were going over plans to prevent any future ones we were just going over strategy when suddenly a sharp pain burst through the tips of my middle and index finger" mate she is very close and in pain !" Silas growled hearing his words I shot up from the desk a loud growl imitated for my chest I reach the door in less than two seconds swing it open and stepping out into the Parlor my eyes searched The Parlor before locking on the front door to see Natalie standing over a very frightened looking young woman she was petite yet thick I couldn't see her face but just then a breeze came rushing in through the door towards me carrying her scent I inhaled deeply honeysuckles and fresh rain my chest tightened in that moment I wanted nothing more than to have her in my arms I look down noticing the toe of Natalie shoe on the girl's hand and without hesitating I rushed over and pushed her backwards knocking her into the wall" what the hell are you doing Natalie what is your problem" I yelled letting my Alpha tone Escape as I knelt down beside the girl Natalie looked at me enraged" what do you mean what the hell am I doing this whatever the hell she is ran straight into me as I was coming inside and as I was stepping over her I accidentally stepped on her hand what's the big deal" she shouted I glared at her Fury building in my chest" she is our guest Natalie and should be treated with a little more respect but since you can't seem to give that to anybody maybe it's best you dine in your room tonight" I commanded she looked at me feeling insulted then at the girl by my side with hate and rage in her eyes squealing in frustration she balled her fist stormed off towards her room after she was out of sight I finally was able to get a look at the girl still sitting on the floor as she looked up at me breathing intensely she was petite shorter than Evanly she had platinum blonde hair in two braids down her back full pouty lips in the cutest little button nose her eyes were light blue with amethyst undertones bordered with thick long lashes she was thicker than you'd expect a she-wolf to be but not in a bad way and was definitely blessed with a chest and curves realizing I had let my gaze settle a little too long on her cleavage I shook my head offering her my hand she hesitated for a moment before reaching up placing her hand in mine as soon as our skin made contact I felt an eruption of Sparks throughout my hand and waves pleasure radiating up my wrist and forearm this is what I've been missing this is what I've waited my whole life for just then she gasped panic and confusion spreading across her face as her gaze darted between our interlocked hands and my face I smiled at her softly before reaching down and quickly helped her up off the floor in to a standing position and pulled her into my chest wrapping my arms around her protectively she stiffened up first before finally relaxing into my embrace never once taking her eyes from mine" what on Earth is going on in here" a loud voice boomed from behind us I turned to see mr. and mrs. frost standing in the doorway of the Parlor Nick and Evanly close behind followed by Ethan who had a giant grin on his face" is that her chase the one you've been going crazy for all day" he said tenderly mr. and mrs. frost glanced at him inquisitively" what do you mean going crazy for all day" they asked I took a deep breath preparing myself to explain" for the last month I've been waking up at the same time every morning with a longing in my chest needed to be somewhere like somebody was calling me I didn't understand it I didn't know what it was from then today for the first time there was a voice like a link in my head it wasn't from anybody in our pack and then again today at the river I bent down to take a drink and suddenly felt a sharp pain in my mouth I couldn't explain it or where it came from as it was nothing I did it had felt like somebody else's pain" I was suddenly cut off by a quiet gasp" the bee" she whispered I looked down at her raising and eyebrow quizzically as she continued" today after the library I was laying in the grass by the river reading while eating my sandwich and I hadn't realized there was a bee and bit into it then it me in the mouth" she said in a soft voice that was warm and comforting " oh....... Oh my God Mason she's his and he's her.." her mother gasped tears brimming in her eyes and a smile stretched across her face everyone stopped and looked at her intrigued as to what she had to say " dear our baby girl has a mate!" she shouted in excitement and I turned to look into my mates beautiful eyes of blue and amethyst like Enchanted pools one could lose their soul into before I knew it was happening Silas had pushed forward and crashed our mouths to hers to connect with her wolf Sparks erupted between us like the most magnificent firework show only we could enjoy she leaned in accepting the contact and a delicately soft Moan escaped her lips after a moment he pulled away and retreated with a whimper" she has no wolf" he sighed my heart ached for him he to had waited just as long as I had for this day and I couldn't help but feel guilty " I...... I don't understand aren't you..." I stammered fear flashed in her beautiful features as she looked at me knowingly as tears welled up in her eyes and spilled over down her cheeks she quickly pulled away from me backing up to the door " no...... I'm so... I'm so sorry" she sobbed before turning and running as fast as her legs could carry her out the door her father walked up behind me placing a hand on my shoulder " I think we need to have a talk about a few things " he sighed and motioning towards my office Mr and mrs Frost Ethan and myself headed to my office while Nick and Evanly headed to the dining room for dinner as we entered my office I motion for everybody to take a seat while staring expectantly at Mr Frost waiting for him to explain he rubbed the back of his neck as if he was searching for the words to put this lightly then he finally started " I honestly don't know how to explain this I'll try the best way I know how" remorse evident in his face as he spoke " my wife and I are booth from alpha blood Emma here was due to take the title of alpha of her pack but before she could we discovered we were mates while attending a pack Gathering I had already taken my place as Alpha so naturally she became my Luna passed the title down to her younger brother but being the first born she had the strongest Alpha blood it's very very rare two Alphas are mated I have never met any anyway and the repercussions of that became evident shortly after our mating and Luna ceremony usually Alphas produce a pup within six months after meeting their mate but for us it was far more difficult it took us five years before Emma became pregnant with Akayla we were so scared that something would go wrong her pregnancy was very hard on her and she ended up carrying a whole month overdue finally on the day she was born the doctor handed her to us with a sympathetic look she was very small only about 6 lb unlike a normal wolf pup the range is between 8 and 9 she didn't seem very strong and doctors were afraid she wouldn't make it through the night but she had proved everyone wrong about her 8th birthday we noticed something may be wrong she wasn't growing as fast as the other wolf pups and didn't seem to be meeting any of the milestones that you would expect speed ,endurance, strength and she was softer thicker then most her age at age 13 we eagery waited for her first full moon she was so excited to meet her wolf it was all she talked about for a month straight about how amazing it would be to have a best friend with her always but as the moon arose to its highest point in the sky nothing happened and it absolutely devastated akayla she locked herself in her room for weeks she wouldn't eat or speak to anyone she felt as though the moon goddess had betrayed her that she wasn't fit to have a wolf or a mate and that absolutely destroyed us we kept her lack of wolf a secret from the pack as long as we could but soon people started to whisper and rumors spread like wildfire about the alphas only child being a wolfless mutt and that almost broke her you couldn't understand how devastating The Whispers were to my daughter I did what any father would do I stepped down from my place as Alpha and moved away from the pack and that was fine for a while before people had started to talk again there was a small pack of Rogues that had attacked the pack looking for a child born of two Alphas we never shared this information with her as she would blamed herself for the attack being the sweet and caring person she is so we decided to leave and moved here from Alaska creating distance between us and them in hopes they would have abandoned their search" he explicated mrs. Frost sat next to him on the sofa tears streaming down her cheeks and guilt Illuminating her face she looked up at me with pleading eyes " please Alpha I understand if you feel you must reject my daughter she is not a whole wolf she can never fully bond with your wolf in the way he needs but she is capable of being both of your mate if given the chance she has such a high capacity for love and she would make you a wonderful Luna she's kind and caring always putting the needs of others before her own in our old pack she would have given her life for any one of them without hesitation even though they didn't always treat her with the kindness she deserved but if you feel that you have no other choice but to reject her please do me the kindness of being gentle she deserves that much" she sobbed then buried her face and to mr. Frost's chest he looked at me apologetically and pain constricted my test I could never reject her wolf or not she was still my mate beautiful and from their description a sweet and caring soul I sat for a moment staring at my hands tears threatening to Escape my eyes finally taking a deep breath " mrs. Frost I know you do not know me so your fears and concerns are completely valid but I can assure you I have no intention of rejecting your daughter what kind of man would I be to reject such a perfect gift from the Moon Goddess wolf or not she is my mate and deserves nothing less in love and adoration from not only myself but from my pack as well" I consoled her the pair looked on at Me before realization of my words set in the air in the room felt lighter" thank you so much Alpha you have no idea what her being mated means to our family we had held fear that she would not find a mate for so long and my heart is just bursting at the seams with the fact you are willing to accept her given her slight disadvantage and vulnerability" Miss Frost beamed after talking for a few moments more we headed to the dining room to get something to eat I had sent Seth and Ethan find a Kayla and bring her back safely the Wilderness was not a place for a young woman with no wolf being at night

Akayla's POV

After I ran from the pack house stops flowing from my throat interior staining my cheeks I headed straight for the tree line I didn't know where I was going but I knew I couldn't be here my heart sank at the look on his face and my heart knew he was going to reject me why wouldn't he I had no wolf by the tone he used with that cruel woman I could tell that he was the alpha he radiated with authority so he would need a strong female one who would stand at his side and help him lead his pack I was unfit and this I know so I held no ill feelings towards him for doing what needed to be done for his pack finally completely exhausted and I stopped in the clearing in the trees collapsing to the ground waiting for the pain of my rejection to set in sobbing into the Earth uncontrollably when suddenly I sensed movement and out of the corner of my eye I sought the Blurred silhouette of a doe springing from the trees translator I felt warm breath at the top of my head slowly looking up I was met face-to-face with a she-wolf she did not seem aggressive but just stared at me curiously she wasn't a large wolf probably about medium sized she had a blondish tan coat white socks and Thunder belly with the most mesmerizing emerald eyes I had ever seen she nudged me with her snout encouraging me to sit up following her guidance I did just that using the edge of my shirt to wipe the tears from my eyes she slowly walked behind a large Oak tree and when she re-emerged from behind the timber she was in her human form and clothed she was taller than I had expected about 5' 7" her wavy dark blonde hair hung to just about her waist and even in human form her green eyes were just has stunning and complimented her oval face she had a slender athletic build with defined hips and even with only the glow of the Moon Illuminating the space around us the light danced off her olive skin she seemed slightly out of breath like she had been running for quite some time" are you okay have you been hurt do you need help" she inquired crouching down beside me"n...no I'm not hurt Maybe a little turned around possibly lost but not hurt" I stated she tilted her head staring at me for a moment clapping her hands down on her knees and standing up" welp lucky for you I happened to have great directional skills do you know your address?" she joked after I gave her my address she reached into the bag that she had secured around her waist and strapped to her thigh and pulled out a cell phone entering it in Google Maps feeling a little foolish for not thinking of that myself I brought my palm to my forehead making a slight slap sound as it contact we both pause before bursting out in laughter she offered me her hand " I'm Jade by the way former member of the silver stream pack and current one-woman show" she exclaimed I shook her hand with a grin" I'm a Akayla it's a pleasure to meet you and I like you I'm also packless" I stated I and we began to engage and small talk she had told me her parents had died I'm not her brother was trying to sell her to the highest bidder who wish to raise his status in the due to her beta blood and the fact she was almost 21 and still had not met her mate I in return confessed to Jade why I was crying and the encounter with the alpha and an impending rejection upon hearing this her eyes became sympathetic and she wrapped her arms around me and embracing me in a hug " whoever this Alpha guy is he's a real jackass if he's going to reject a perfectly good wolf like you" she shot offense in her voice and my mind finally caught up to what Jade had just said perfectly good wolf what did she mean by that I didn't have a wolf my parents even said I never even smelt like a wolf so how did she know just then Jade had unexpectedly stiffened standing slightly in front of me her ears perked at attention as the sound of quickly moving footsteps approached shortly after two young men emerged from the trees panting heavily they stopped a few feet from us one of the men bent over grabbing his knees trying to Force oxygen into his lungs " AR..... Are you Akayla" he questioned I nodded hesitantly " I'm Seth one of the Warriors for the crescent Meadow pack Alpha Chase has requested we bring his Luna back to him safely" he said with urgency I froze not being able to find the words to say what did he mean Alpha chases Luna why would he demand my safe return if he was going to reject me or maybe that's why he sent them so he could reject me in person just sever both sides of the bond and have it done and over with all at once without realizing tears Had Filled my eyes once again at the thought of being rejected by the mate I have longed for for so long just then somebody had cleared their throat behind seth after searching the darkness for a moment he stepped forward into the soft glow of the moon's light Seth spoke up once more" sorry Luna how rude of me this is Ethan Woods Alpha chases beta " but before I could acknowledge Him he rushed towards us grabbing Jade in a tight embrace before burying his face in her hair inhaling deeply " mine" he growled from deep in his chest he lifted her inches off the ground and walked them over to one of the large trees pressing her back against the bark she nuzzled her face into his neck wrapping her legs around his waist .Seth cleared his throat " ummm..... Luna if you don't mind I think we should go I'm not sure we're going to want to be here for this" he smirked taking that as my que to go I walked over to Seth who led me through the trees back to the packhouse I stopped at the bottom of the small stair way with a tightness in my chest and lump in my throat I started to back away slightly when Seth placed a hand on my shoulder. "are u ok Akayla we don't have to go in right away if you need a minute" he tried to reassure me I stood staring at the door when suddenly it opened and Mr Hill stepped out onto the front porch he took a pack of cigarettes out of his back pocket and lit one inhaling the smoke slowly before blowing it out into the air I turned to look at Seth and suddenly his body became rigid his nostrils flared and I swear his eyes all but turned black I gasped but before I could react searing pain shot through my body like pouring boiling water over every inch of my skin and an unbearable heat in my lower abdomen my chest constricted to the point of almost not being able to breathe I clutched my chest and collapsed to my knees a blood-curdling scream escaped my lips when out of nowhere mr. Hill was beside me but instead of offering me assistance he grabbed Seth by the throat and chest from behind restraining him he looks down at me Panic visible in his face then he got a Faraway look as though using a link within seconds the alpha and my parents where at the door my mother had a look of Horror then sprung into action " Mason restrain the alpha!" she shouted before running to me and helping me up from the ground looking up at Mister Hill " where's your nearest shower" she asked he pointed her in the right direction and she hurried me inside once we got to the bathroom she started stripping my clothes until I was only left in my underwear I wailed as the pain radiates through my body I could hear Alpha chases angry frantic growls emanating through the house my mother had turned the shower on the water set on its coldest setting she pushed me inside as the icy water enveloped my body I could almost hear my skin sizzle" mom what's happening?" I screeched my mother had stepped into the shower behind me still fully clothed holding me against her chest and stroking my hair " it's okay honey just try to relax this will pass soon" she reassured me in a calming tone shortly after the pain subsided and my body temperature seems to be returning to normal once she was sure I was going to be okay my mother had grabbed a towel wrapping it around me after turning off the water helping me to the edge of the bathtub in the corner she had me sit and focus before crouching down in front of me worry on her face" Akayla honey I'm going to ask you some questions and I need you to be completely honest with me have you been feeling off recently like a magnetic pull or uneasiness like you have some place to be?" I looked at her tears welling up in my eyes I nodded" about how long snowflake?" she asked I wiped the tears from my eyes with the back of my hand " it's....... It's been a little over a month" I replied my voice trembling. " oh okay honey I now understand it you're experiencing your first heat that feeling you've been having was your mate Bond trying to pull you and alpha Chase together but I understand that you not having a wolf it wouldn't have been as strong for you as it was for him and I fear I failed you in some way not knowing if you would have a mate or not your father and I have not talked to you about what to expect when and if it finally happened" she explained apologetically I placed my hand on her cheek " I don't blame you how could we have known I just hope now it's over" I stated feeling exhausted she shook her head looking at me apologetically before gathering my clothes up off the floor as she started to help me put my feet through the leg holes of my pants she spoke softly" honey this is just starting but we should really get you home before the next wave hits" she said quickly rushing to slip my shirt over my head "your heat will drive any unmated male crazy and without a wolf u wouldn't be strong enough to fight them off" she warned solemly
