I was sitting in the living room with the fire roaring before me. The blood from my hand dripped on the floor as I held my 4th glass of scotch. I broke the first three glasses after they were empty as I thought about this afternoon's events. The elevator door signaled her arrival, and I downed the last of the amber liquid before throwing the glass into the fireplace. I started to get up but thought better of it. I was going to wait for her to come to me. I could hear her heels clicking as she walked toward the room. They slowed down as they approached the living room.
