I sat there staring at the paper. I could hear voices in the background. A faint “Congratulations, Alpha” lingered in my ears. An overwhelming feeling of pride filled my chest, but they weren’t my feelings. As I could feel Mateo’s large arms wrap around me, I looked up at him. His face beamed with excitement.
