It had been almost a week since Laila had run out of my office. To say me and Rocco were not handling it well felt like an understatement.
I had gone to her apartment shortly after she left, but no one came to the door. I waited outside her building with my delta, Miles, for hours. Chase eventually showed up, and I couldn't tell if I was relieved or annoyed that Laila wasn't with him. His depressing appearance was enough to calm Rocco down a bit.
Miles eventually convinced me to leave after it got dark, but we stationed members of the pack outside of the apartment building to keep watch. Every day they reported my depressing cousin coming in and out of the apartment, but no sight of Laila.
