Prologue

I stood there still, watching in shock as the love of my life, the man of my dreams, the same man I had planned to spend the rest of my life with, kissed another woman in front of everyone. The same people who had once held me in high regard, looked at me from a point they could ever dream of reaching, their eyes filled with envy and jealousy, cheering on as my place was taken. He had only known that woman for a month, and he had assured me multiple times that she was just his secretary and he saw her as nothing more than that. But he and I have dated for ten years and have known each other for longer. So why? How? Where did it all go wrong? Did I not show him enough devotion? Did he not feel my love? All that time spent together, all that s*x, did it mean nothing to him? No! I can't stand there and watch from the sides like a pauper! I have been wronged. And I am going to walk up there and show everyone my wrath. But just when I made up my mind to go up there, rough, but warm hands slithered their way around my waist. I was pulled into a hard body. The smell of his earthy cologne started to calm me, until he spoke. "Come on my Olive. You know I can't let you do anything rash right now. Not when you belong to me," he said the spine-chilling words that had my heart racing.
