I narrow my eyes on Eligos’s black gaze, darting them briefly to Damon then back again. His smirk taunts me as much as his words, heating the fire that’s always strumming through my veins. My fingers tingle as the heat spreads throughout my body.
I focus my attention on the fire circle surrounding them. Power seems to radiate from the flames, enticing me to come closer, to submit my own fire to its blaze.
“Come closer, dear. You feel the power. Do not shy away from it, embrace it. It can be yours, you just have to choose that path.” His words shoot heat down my spine, but the burn isn’t pleasant. It itches and stings the whole way down. That burn reminds me of who he is.
