Killain's POV Three hours. It had been three damn hours since I stepped foot in the building and her office was still empty. My mind kept drifting there, to the neatly arranged files, the closed laptop, the chair pushed in with quiet precision. Exactly how it looked yesterday. Exactly how she left it. My jaw flexed. I checked my watch for what had to be the tenth time. Where the hell was she? She was never this late , probably a minute or two but three hours was… unusual.
