LYRA’S POV The voice had barely disappeared when Kael said the words that changed everything. “We leave tonight.” I stared at him. “Tonight?” “Before dawn.” His expression was cold, determined, almost frightening. “We’re going to find your father.” My heart tightened. “My father has my child.” Kael’s jaw clenched. “Our child.” The correction should have comforted me.
