Sam
"How are you doing Lizzy, it's Samantha
I said after I heard noises from the other end of the line. It's only now I realized how stupid it is to call her after four years of no communication.
" Hey, honey I don't remember no Samantha and am in the middle of alot now maybe I will ring you later" I heard her vioce before the line was gone. That's great now I have to just research and use my old textbooks.
I wore a hoodie over my sleeveless top and decided to heard to a library few blocks away used to work there a long while ago before the store.
Mom had make sure the table was set and they sat in the living room waiting for Delia
"Mom, need to head to the library, be back soon" I shouted as I left.
"Be back soon" I heard her yell
Got several books cause I couldn't decide the one I needed so I took everything recommended online. Was lost in my thoughts as I trekked back home then I suddenly noticed a black car trailing me.
'No way who could be so free to trail me' I wondered. To comfirm my suspicions I stopped and so did the car, I looked back enough so I could see who was in the car but the windows were tinted. I could see a man in a black and white tux in the driver's seat, no one was in the front passenger seat and I wasn't sure someone was at the back or not.
Did Jamie scumbag send someone to stalk me? I wondered, he couldn't be that free I thought he had a big buissnes to run or something.
I couldn't think of any other person as I fastened my footsteps the car also increased the speed and followed me and I ran like ran ran home. Didn't stop until I got inside the house.
"OH dear! Mom exclaimed cause I ran into the house and was sweaty and out of breath
" Who's after you, aunt Sam? George asked they had all circled me curiously waiting for answers
"There was a car after me* I explained what happened to me
" Did you hear that? Gina called out our attention cause someone was knocking.
"Mom let's not answer it" I pleaded
"it could be anyone baby and I don't baby" she replied as she went to get the door and Delia in appeared in a classy outfit. The short white skirt hung on her tiny waist, the peach blouse complimented the white skirt and white jacket. Her short heels clicked like those office women that use to shop at the store. She walked up to frighten Me on the couch
"Did I frighten a little much, so sorry dear" she said as she laughed
No way this b***h did this
"That was so much, I could have gotten a panic attack" I snapped
"it's was a prank dear, Del would never hurt you" mom reasoned couldn't even believe the kids and her were finding it funny.
"You should have seen her face when she came in" mom teased
"Yes grams it was worst than the day Gina and I scared her with the Halloween outfits" George added and they laughed
"So funny" I sneered as I left for my room
Kept the books on the table and pulled of the hoodie. After putting my head up in a bun, I settled to go through the books as I heard the cheerful voices of Delia and my family in the background.
It's took long but I was able to make a sketch of a nice shed for the back yard with the Pic of the backyard Marie sent me.
"Sam dear, come out for dinner" mom called me. Satisfied with my sketch I kept it away for tomorrow cause I had lots to do for the building of the shed.
"Coming! I yelled as I left the room.
Dinner
Gina said a short prayer then we began to eat.
" The food is so delicious, sienna you're Such a good cook "Delia said
" I am, but Sam takes after me she made it"Mom said proudly.
"She makes the meal better than grams" Gina added
"Ouch" mom said making a sad face and we laughed.
They rambled on about so many stuffs that lost track and kept fiddling with the spoon.
"Sam I haven't seen you at the shop for your hair do" Delia spoke to me
"uhhm I haven't had time for that actually"
"But you're a Santa actor and you don't have gigs all the time" she continued
"yea I actually got a contract to build a shed for a Christmas party cause I lied I was an architect" I confessed.
"Baby, you didn't lie you did do architecture" mom tried to comfort me
"Just one year mom and am afraid I might ruin it or someone finds out I lied and they think am a fraud"
"Calm down Sam, if there is one thing about you baby you don't agree to stuffs you can't do, you're gonna rock it and maybe it might give you the inspiration you need for school next year" mom said grabbing my hands
"Your mom is right, listen to her and follow your heart yet once you're done with the construction stop for a hairdo on Christmas eve, don't spend Christmas with that terrible hair" she warned jokingly,
"Thank you, all of you" I said genuinely thankful and continued to eat.
Wednesday
I got up early, I had to go show Marie and her family the sketches so I could go buy materials and tools for construction, it was going to be a long day with Jamie scumbag around as supervisor. I made breakfast and skipped it, didn't want to be running around with a full stomach this morning.
I met Marie and did a pitch for her and she said it was great idea and I had to show the rest of the family.
JAMIE
Marie called, I didn't sleep at the house, worked late was trying to round up so I could get enough time to know Miss Santa's mission and spend time with the kids. Marie Said she has a building plan and it was great and Miss Santa was pitching for the rest of us.
Took a shower wore a new T shirt and trousers my secretary both and left the hotel. The building plan was great Andy and Joe skipped it they didn't care so much about the party like I and Marie.
"Were are you going? I asked as she packed the sketches to leave
" I have to go get woods, nails, tin roofings and decorations" she replied
"could you move back you're too close" she said taking a step back from me
"what the heck? I murmured
" Am coming with you"
"No you're not" she snapped
"Are you planning on running away with the black card" I pressed
Marie has handed her one of the cards to get everything she needed.
"okay you can as well follow me to the toilet now, I might run through the toilet drain hole" she said sarcastically and went to the restroom.
Some mean Santa lady.
Sam
The drive to the Home depot to get lumber wood was very silent,
"Marie mentioned you majored in architecture, which institution did you go to? He broke the silence
Why was he asking this, was he suspicious of me.
" Colombia University " I answered
" Manhattan new york"
"Yea" I confirmed
"That's a great college"
Yea it is loved it there but I couldn't say it aloud
We got there, got woods and building materials I needed, the delivery services helped get the materials to the backyard through the door at the fence in the backyard. Had to go get skilled workers that could bring the sketch to life. Thankfully Jamie didn't come with me he had volleyball practice with his cousin, I hired workers from The staffing agency then briefed them on the building and we had three days to finish. The work started after Jamie spoke to them, they took his words seriously than mine and that hurt me.
They didn't do much cause it was getting late so they had to pack up and come back tomorrow.
"That's alot of progress for one day" Marie remarked.
"Thank you"
"Stay for dinner" Marie offered
"I would love too but I really have to go home" I turned her down
"okay, I tomorrow"
"tomorrow" I said back and left the house.
Seconds later a car was behind me
Could it be Delia again.
The glass wind down to see Jamie on the driving
"Let me give you a ride" he offered
"nope
" Please, I was wrong about you and am so sorry let me just take you home please " he pleaded. I stopped to look at him he was like a whole new person.
" okay I guess one ride won't kill me "
I said and got in the car
" Am sure it won't princess"he replied and I laughed lightly. I looked at his face
Damn, the man is gorgeous.....
