Kaelis's pov I didn't think there would be a time when I would be grateful to him for saving me but here I was being grateful. I turned my head, which was resting on the window, to look at the man who sat beside me. His face shone under the lights as we moved-- he had his hand on his jaw and was lost in thought. I hear him chuckle before turning to look at me. "I never knew you to be this quiet?" His voice had a mocking undertone. "My bad," I said as I snatched my eyes from him and faced the opposite side. The drive to his house was rather awfully quiet as we stole glances at each other and both of us were too proud to say anything. The car swerved onto a rather lonely path off the highway.
