It was a task that would consume several days to complete to the satisfaction of the High Council. Within hours from when the teams were sent to Windmere’s surface, they had found the palace littered with bodies. Most perished due to wounds received from the warring Tamplians and Vancurelians, others, from the virus that had been released inside the room with the trees and the remains of the rulers of the colony. Bodies were piled inside the gate and burned to reduce the threat of the virus being spread outside the city. A few contracted the illness, spread by others who were unaware they were infected, having been inside the palace when the vial shattered on the stone floor.
