As I walked out the front door, the renovation teams were coming in. The building, which had been seized by the Standing Committee a few hours earlier, was being converted into staff offices for Standing Committee members. As the largest block, the UPCR had first choice and they took the entire space. Standing Committee Member Montell would move into the office I had just left. The desk would vanish into recycling. I was sure Reyan would find herself with a corner office. The symbolism would be lost on no one. When I got back to the Agency, I was in a hurry to wrap the whole process up.
