Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a row of iron shelves lined up to the side of the alley. Without thinking, I reached my hand out and grabbed one of them, using it to block the middle of the road. One of the riders was surprised and was not able to use his brakes in time. He slammed harshly against the iron frame, followed by another harsh slam by the rider who was right behind him. The two men fell to the ground like broken dolls with their arms and legs decorated with bruises. I gave the two men on the ground a sidelong glance, not caring that they were hurting.
