Eve was left both baffled and tearful. Dimps came over to her putting her arm around Eve.
'It's not true Dimps. It's not true...I didn't beat him up - have him beaten. Honest Dimps.'
'Well, somebody did Eve - could have been a coincidence I suppose. But if you say you didn't then I believe you,' Dimps consoled.
But there was something not right she thought; had they misunderstood each other, getting their words and assumptions all wrong? They were so suited together. Now it had all collapsed with Evelyn in tears. And Mark gone for good it seemed.
'I hate him Dimps. If he walks in here in future then, I'll let you or somebody else take care of him because I shan't...I shall go into the back.'
But Dimps was not convinced. Her experience told her that something was off .
