'We are going up to the North West of Scotland Guido...and I have an old friend of mine who lives in the Mull of Kintyre area – a lovely place. His name is Graham - we’re old mates from school days. He has a huge caravan home situated in a very nice spot. It'll take us about 10 hours to drive up that way.'
'Ten hours!?'
'Yes sorry, no Autobahn for us I'm afraid…and the speed limit here in the UK is 70 – not 170 like in Germany!'
They laughed.
Guido said that one of his favourite past-times was walking in the Black Forest and further afield, into neighbouring Austria.
'I have been to Scotland once before but that was to watch a football match in Glasgow - I have not had the chance to do any exploring but now I can kill two birds with the single stone
