Saturday night, everyone was going over to Remy's to just watch movies and hang out because nobody had any other plans. Macy and Monty were both at friend's houses so it was all taken care of. "We need a snack run," Remy mumbled. "I got nothing good unless you guys want stale Cheetos. Sorry kids." "I can go," I offered. "I'll come with!" Luke quickly stood up, shooting me a bright smile. I chuckled, "It's okay. You don't have to come, Luke." Luke scoffed, "You saying you don't like my company, love?" I narrowed my eyes in a joking manner, "It's unclear. I haven't decided if I do or don't." Luke placed a hand on his heart to feign hurt, "Here I was being delusional thinking Mar was growing to be fond of me." "Oh you guys are gross," Mario threw a couch pillow at Luke. "That's my baby sister, bro. Back off or just get a room already." "That's very unclear, man," Luke mumbled, picking the pillow up and hugging it to his chest. "Which one are you telling me to do? Back of or ge-" "I am older than you, Mario! Respect your elders," I grumbled, jumping in to cut off Luke as I grabbed his hand and pulled him out of the house with me. "Eager to get me alone, love?" He wiggled his eyebrows up and down as he looked down at me, an easy grin playing on his lips. I rolled my eyes, "Get in the car before I change my mind about bringing you along, pretty boy." "Oh! We need sour patch kids," Luke exclaimed as he scanned the shelves. "Fuzzy peaches," I mumbled, speaking more to myself. "Sour patch kids are better." He retorted. I narrowed my eyes, turning to face him. "Question." "Shoot." "Favourite chocolate?" Luke smirked, "Reeses." My eyes went wide, "You're kidding! Those are the worst." "Really?" Luke challenged. "So then what's your pick, love?" I sucked in my lips as I thought for a moment, "Kit Kat. Good chocolate with a crunch inside." Luke laughed, shaking his head, "That is the most expected answer." I scoffed, "Better than a peanut butter combination." Luke frowned dramatically, "I don't think this is going to work out if we can't agree on the same go-to chocolate, love." I chuckled, shaking my head at him. "Here I was thinking it wasn't going to work out because you're annoying." Luke lightly pushed my shoulder, "Am not." I nudged him back, "Are to." "Oh, shut up, will you two?!" We both spun around to see the one and only spawn of Satan, my charming cousin, Floy. I smirked, "Floy. Lovely seeing you here. May I ask what you're doing here?" "Getting protein powder," she answered cooly. Well, at least Luke and I were having more fun than her. "God knows what you're doing with her, Lukey," Floy stuck out her bottom lip, pushing past me to come beside Luke and place a hand on his arm. "How did someone as attractive as you have their standards drop so low?" "I mean, I wouldn't know because I'm not hanging out with you, am I?" I sucked in a breath to hold back the laugh that was dying to come out right now but that would only make Floy snap even more. She gasped dramatically. "I can assure you that I am no where near on the same level as... Marie." She spoke my name with utter disgust. Man, how much I love my relatives. Luke shrugged a little, "Whatever helps you sleep at night but we can agree to disagree because I think Marie is the best person I know." I blinked, not sure how to react to his words. Luke kept a strong gaze locked with Floy, showing her he wasn't affected by anything she had to say. I wasn't sure if my stomach was swirling with awe because of his words, or from disappointment because he was only saying that to piss off Floy as much as he could. "Whatever," Floy aggressively pushed past the both of us. "Have fun catching an STD, Marie." I blinked, not sure what just happened or how we even managed to run into her right now. Luke looked at me, a look of disbelief but also amusement on his face. "Does she ever get tired and stop?" I shrugged, going back to scanning the shelves and grabbing candies. "Hasn't in the past 17 years, no." I put some distance between Luke and I. I wasn't sure why but I suddenly felt out of place. I wondered if all the things he did whenever Floy was around was because he really just much rather hang out with me or if it was to piss her off because she is very persistent and annoying, nor does she know how to take no for an answer. "Catch." Before I could process what was happening, a bag of chips was throw right at my head. "Sorry," Luke grumbled, walking closer to me. "Didn't realize how short you are." I let out a small laugh, "I am not short... I'm average." I picked the bag up and threw it back at him but he easily caught it, unlike me. After grabbing a few more random snacks and drinks, Luke and I paid and headed back to Remy's house. -
