Chapter 2

1045 Words
It was a day before Black Howlers come. I have been working my ass off to have everything ready on time. I got to school late because I went to bed late last night. The cooks are starting to prepare everything for tomorrow. They should be arriving an hour after we return from school. I decided that tomorrow I would be late again, then stay an hour after school to catch up on any work. I know there would be a chance that I wouldn't be there for their arrival, but I would be there for dinner. Matt was pretty calm about the whole situation. Today has been the worst. On my way to school, my tire popped. I had to call Declan who still hasn't gotten to school, so he could pick me up. He decided to be my driver until Monday because I had taken my car to have everything fixed so nothing would happen to it. Tonight I skipped dinner so that I could study for the test we have tomorrow. It was pretty late, so I turned in, and fell right asleep. The next morning I had a shower and put on black ripped jeans, a white tub top, and my black vans. I put my hair in a messy bun, and I would put it down before getting to school. I had breakfast with everyone, and Declan picked me up before everyone left. I know I could take a ride with anyone else, but I am helping Declan because he is going through things with his parents. They think that he isn't paying much attention to his job to be Alpha. They said that he has to stop sleeping around and focus on the pack. He wants to change, but all he needs is that friend boost, so that's what I am doing. Declan picked me up on his ninja 650 ABS motorcycle, instead of his black Ferrari. I put on the helmet and rode to school. As we pull up to school, the engine roars, getting everyone's attention. We park and I get off first. I feel everyone's eyes on us, but I ignore it. I get to class. Then later I sat at lunch with the boys, eating lunch. "So Matt, is everything ready for tonight?" Declan asks. "Yeah, the cooks should finish by the time we get home, patrols are doing what I said, and there is no training today," Matt says taking another bite of his burger. "Callie, I am going to go home after school, change, and then I will pick you up at four, Black Howlers should be getting there around 4:30 p.m, so you should have time," Declan adds. "Okay, all I need is to turn in what I have completed and get the math page and I will finish it right there. It shouldn't take me long. If school ends at three, I should have time to get there before 4:30" I said finishing my fries. The bell soon rang and everyone should start leaving. I went back to the reading class. "Hi, Mrs. Beck, here is my report for the book, I wanted to ask if I can do anything so it won't bring my grade down since it is late?" I ask handing her my book report. "Well, I decided that if the report is really good, then you could get extra points. I will read it this weekend, and let you know Monday," she said. "Okay, thank you so much, Mrs. Beck, hope you like it!" I said and made my way to the door. "Callie," she said. I turned around to face her. "Thank you for caring so much, you are a great student, and I will miss you next year. Keep up the great work!" She said with a smile. "No, thank you for being a good teacher, I will miss you too," I said and headed to biology. "Mr. Graham, I have the book pages complete. So sorry that it was late." I said walking up to his desk. "Oh thank you, Callie. You are such a good student, I knew you would turn it in at some point," he said taking the book. "Thanks," I said with a smile. He is a nice teacher, but he gets annoying, talks too much. After I left for my math class. "Ms. Sacramento, I have the pages you gave me, I just need to finish the other three, and I will be done with the unit," I said handing her the pages. "Oh, here you go Callie. You can finish it right here and I will grade them," she said handing me the other three pages. I took them and sat at a desk. I started to work on the problems. Thirty minutes later, I finished the pages. I got up and walked over to her. "Thank you for letting me catch up Ms. Sacramento," I said handing her the pages. "No worries Callie, you are very responsible, I knew you could do it," she said taking the pages and putting it on a stack of paper. "Thank you. See you Monday." I said and headed to the cafeteria. I knew there would be at least someone there. I bought some chips and headed to the parking lot to wait for Declan. I pulled out my phone and dialed his number. "Hello, Declan I am done and waiting outside." "Okay cupcake, I am twenty minutes away." "Okay, I'll be here waiting." I hung up the phone and called Matt. "Matt, Declan is on his way to pick me up, I will be there soon." "Okay, that's fine. Black Howlers should be here in like thirty minutes, it's four now." "Yeah" I hung up and called Aspen "Hey baby girl, just wondering if you are dressed and ready?" "Hey Cal, yeah I just got out of the shower. I am about to put on my dress and do my hair. "Okay baby girl. I will be there soon, I am here at school, Declan is almost here." "Okay, Cal." I hung up and waited until Declan arrived. Ten minutes later, Declan pulls up on his bike. I get on and we make our way to the packhouse.
