Chapter 4

2420 Words
I get out of the shower and walk into my closet. I pick out a black dress. It was a bit higher than my thigh. From my hips down, it was like a wavy skirt. Then on my torso, it was tight, off the shoulders, and it showed all my curves, even when it was wavy. I put on my black lace-up heels. I leave my hair down and apply little make-up. I grab my phone which was charging and head to Aspen's room. I knock but don't wait for her to reply. I find her sitting at her desk, and Aiden and Blake sitting on her couch. "Guys, you ready?" I ask. I know you would think I should be worried why she is in here by herself with two other boys, but I know that Blake is her best friend, and Aiden seems like a nice kid. It's good that he is making friends with them. "Yeah, we were just about to head down," Aspen says standing up. The boys stand up and start to walk to the door. I back up into the hallway and bump into the wall, didn't notice that the hallway had shrunk. I look back, and it was Damian. I blush. I smile at him and stand up correctly. "Aiden, come on, it's time for dinner," he says, talking to his brother. I move out of the way to let them all walkout. I make my way to the top of the stairs. "Aspen, Blake, I will be downstairs waiting. Hurry your asses up." I say without looking back and walk down the stairs. I make it to the kitchen. "Mary, is everything ready, everyone is starting to come down?" I ask Mary, the head cook. "Yes, Ms. Callie. The kids are eating downstairs in the lounge. Their dinner is served." she says bowing to me. "Okay, good job," I say before I smile and walk into the dining room. Some cooks are already placing down the appetizers. I stand behind my seat. My phone rings. It was Kai calling. "Hello Kai?" I ask, and I notice that Blake, Aspen, Aiden, Matt, Sawyer, Damian, Jacob, and Mia walked in. "Hey babe, I was wondering what you were doing tomorrow?" I know everyone could hear him. Damian had his gaze narrowed at me when he heard what Kai had said. I really wanted to play with him. "Umm, well I was planning on working out in the morning, and then after that, I am all yours Boo," I said, adding a hint of playing around. The boys and I always joked around like that. We even had a game, that whoever sounded most seductive, wins. That's why the attention went to Matt when he started to laugh his ass off. He knew I won there. "Ugh, baby you hurt me deeply. But I will win soon enough, you are all mine tomorrow, okay," he said. I could hear the smirk in his tone. I laughed. "All yours," I said, and hung up the phone. Matt who was right next to me, gave me a high five, knowing that I totally won. We laughed, ignoring anyone else was here. "Oh, I'm sorry. Let's sit." Matt said, still laughing. I sat to Matt's right, Aspen next to me. Blake on Matt's left, and Sawyer next to him. One chair down next to Aspen sat Aiden. And right next to Sawyer was Mia and then Jacob. Dinner was going pretty well. Everyone was chit-chatting, but Damian's piercing silver eyes never left my blue ones. After dinner, everyone headed to their rooms. Matt made me stay back, he said he needed to tell me something. "So Matt, what's up?" I asked, he looked nervous, making me concerned. "So Mia, she is my-- mate," he said happily. "Oh my god Matt, I am so happy for you!" I said pulling him in for a tight hug. "I also have to tell you something..." I decided that right now was the best time to tell him about Damian. "Damian... well he-he--" he cut me off. "Is your mate?" He said amused. I was startled, how did he know? "I saw it. His eyes went black the moment he saw you. The growl when Declan kissed you. His eyes went black the moment he laid eyes on you, just like mine when I saw Mia." he said. I could see how happy we both were. "Well, go talk to her!" I pushed him towards the stairs. I followed shortly after, only to be grabbed by my wrists. I instantly turn around, ready to punch whoever had the nerve to touch me like that. I stopped when I noticed who it was. "Damian, what are you thinking, sneaky up behind me like that?" He didn't say a word. "Who was that man on the phone?" he demanded, his voice so husky. I couldn't hold back the smirk "Why do you care? Jealous? That I am someone else's?" I asked with a big smirk. Oh my god, I love messing with him. I was instantly pinned against the wall. He leaned in and growled in my face. "You are only mine. Mine to touch, and mine to love," he said, more like growled at me. It was cute what he said, and it meant a lot, he cared. But I wasn't an object to take possession over. I wasn't going to be let treated like that. I scoffed. I pushed him back and continued my way upstairs. When I made it to the top, I was grabbed again, this time by my waist. I only sighed, knowing exactly who it was. "Damian, please let me go," I said, not wanting to look at him. My back was facing his front, he leaned in on my neck. "Don't ever walk away from me," he demanded. I scoffed again. "What? Are you going to hit me if I don't? Just because I am 'yours' right?" I quoted. He quickly let me go and got in front of me. "Never say that. I would never in my life, place a finger on you." I could see the hurt in his silver eyes. I sigh. "Damian, you are my mate, but I am not an object to have ownership over. I am a person. Someone who loves to be free. Run in the woods. Loves the rain. Loves to watch Netflix and cuddle. Wants to feel loved. I want to love. I just don't want to be an object. I will listen to what it is you will ever have to say. I will always be there, but don't treat me like an object, treat me as your equal." I said. I really meant all I said, from my heart. "I am sorry, it's just that I got jealous, and I get really possessive of what's min-- I mean of my mate. I just want to protect you," he said, knowing he messed up. I smiled at him, I know he is trying. I wrap my arms around his neck and hug him. We stay there for a while until I see that Aspen's door opens. "Umm, Callie?" I see Aspen stand her door, a bit fuddled. I part from the hug and give her my full attention. Damian just stands there next to me. "I was wondering if I can talk to you?" she asks ignoring what she just saw. "Sure, what's up?" I ask as if nothing happened. She signals to her room. It was probably serious. "Okay, I will be right there." she just nods and walks back into her room. I turn to face Damian. "Don't worry, I will talk to you later. Come to my room when you are done, okay?" he says with a smile. "Yeah, sorry," I say. He gives me a kiss on the cheek and walks to his room. I walk into Aspen's. I see her looking out her window, really thinking. "Hey baby girl, what's up?" I asked sitting next to her on the bench next to her window. She still doesn't turn to face me. "Is Alpha Damian your mate?" she asks "Umm, yeah," I say, a bit nervous. "Mhm." is all she says. "Why, what's up?" I asked, now a bit concerned. She turns to face me this time. "So, I know that you are supposed to find your mate at the age of sixteen and above. But I have heard, that even when you are almost turning sixteen, you can sense who your mate is. I turn sixteen in a week." she takes a pause. "Yeah, that is true?" I say, what is she getting at? "I think that Aiden is my mate. I don't know, but when I am around him, I feel relaxed. I feel happy, and there is just something when we touched, this weird tingly feeling." she says. I am a bit shocked by her words. "Well Aspen, that's great!" I say giving her a smile "Yeah, but I am scared, Cal. Does it mean that I might have to leave the pack to be with him, leave mom and dad, leave you? And what if he doesn't even accept me. He is already sixteen, why hasn't he said a word to me? It's because he doesn't want me right?" she rambled as tears started to fall down her face. I immediately hugged her, she can't think like this. "Baby girl, don't say that. I am sure he is just as scared." I said hugging her tighter. I was about to say something when the door instantly flew open. "Aspen?" It was Aiden. He looked so worried. Aspen instantly stood up and wiped her tears. He ran to her and hugged her. "I would never reject you." was all he said, and she started to tear up again. But they were happy tears, tears of relief. I got up and walked to the door. I looked back. So happy. They were just hugging, endlessly. Made me miss my mate. I exit her room and walk over to my mates' room. I knock on the door and wait. The door opens, but it wasn't Damian. It was a girl. Julie, the biggest slut of the whole pack. Always hitting on guys, sleeps with them, and moves on to the next. This really pissed me off that she was in here. "Julie, what are you doing here?" I demanded an answer. I narrowed my gaze at her while I waited for her sorry excuse. "Alpha Damian told me to wait in here for him," she said with a cocky grin. "You know you aren't allowed up here." I was mad now. "What do you care, Callie, my mate, Alpha Damian told me to wait here." I couldn't control my anger or Carly. I punched her. I am way stronger than her, so she fell. She stood back up after a minute and threw a punch at me, but I caught it. I gripped her fist, tight. I bent it back while she whined from the pain. She then punched me in my face with her other hand. Caught me off guard. She pulled my hair, turned me around, and wrapped her arm over my neck, trying to choke me. With my other hand, I pulled her hair, but she wouldn't let go. We were almost at the steps of the stairs. She tried to push me down the stairs, but instead, I took her with me. "Callie!" I heard Aspen yell. Matt, Mia, Sawyer, and Aiden also made their way to the top of the stairs. When we reached the bottom, I straddled her and started to punch the living hell out of her. "Don't. You. Ever. Get. Near. My. Mate. Again. You. Stupid. Whore." I said emphasizing each word with a punch. After a couple more punches, I was pulled off of her. She just laid there, barely breathing, blood all over her face. It was Damian holding me. I kicked and yelled for him to let me go. Maybe it wasn't true what she said, but I was furious, I wanted nothing to do with him at the moment. "Callie, Callie, calm down, it's me!" he said, trying to calm me, but I ignored him. Jacob tried to help him, but I just kept going. "Callie, look at me!" Aspen said as she ran up to me. I started to get my breathing straight. "Put me down, Damian," I said, hate in my voice. He hesitated, but then put me down. Matt, Aspen, Aiden, Mia, Blake, and Sawyer were in front of me. Jacob and Damian behind me. Some of the other pack members had gathered to see what was going on. "Cal, what happened, talk to me?" Matt asked, trying to soothe me. I sighed. I didn't say anything. I turned and looked at Damian. "I am done with you," I said and walked out of the packhouse. I could hear everyone calling me, but I ignored it. I walked to the gym and started to punch the punching bag. I was so pissed off right now. No one was here, so that was good. When I normally need to relax, I either train, or go for a run. A few minutes later, I hear the door open and close. "Callie, what happened?" Matt asked, walking up to me. I stopped but didn't turn around. "Julie. She was in his room." I said, still looking at the punching bag. "Why? She knows she can't be there?" he asked. "He told her to wait there for him." "Callie, you know that's not true. Damian would never," he added. "But what if he did?" I asked, looking back at him. "Cal, talk to him, he will explain." I just nodded. We walked back to the packhouse. All stares were on me. I had blood on my lips, but it had already healed, just the blood. I hadn't noticed, but my eye had gotten swollen, and purple, I ignored it all and walked up to his room. I don't even bother to knock. "Tell me it's not true. Tell me that you didn't call her up here." I pleaded. He didn't phase. He was sitting on his bed as if waiting for me. For a few minutes, he didn't say anything. "What if it is?" he said, neutral expression on his face. His words not only pissed me off but hurt me.
