It had been a couple of days since Joseph had lost the witch. He knew she had gone into the Witch woods it was the most obvious place she would have gone. He tried finding ways to track her and kept a map of places where he could find her. Overall there were a few sources of freshwater. She didn't have anything prepared with her beforehand so he knew she would have to find water and food soon.
His mind kept going back to her powers. His father had told him of all the different powers that witches could have. Although there were tons of different powers the rarest of all was to control the elements. He reached a small stream filled up several canteens with the water. It was clean and the area was nice. Since witches were almost extinct there was hardly anyone else in the woods.
Joseph needed to rest so he hid behind some bushes. He laid back and quickly fell asleep.
After about half an hour or so he was woken up by splashing. He quietly got up and peeked through the bushes. There she was. He knew he had to act fast if he wanted to capture her, so he grabbed his bow and arrow. It was risky trying to attack an elemental while she was so close to the water but he had to act fast.
This hunt had lasted him 5 days. This has definitely been his longest ever search. Slowly bringing his bow up to his face and pulling the arrow up to his cheek he aimed. Careful to not make a sound he aimed for her heart.
He breathed in and out slowly to steady his nerves and let go of the arrow. He heard a whoosh of the arrow flying through the air and then he heard a loud splash in the stream. He then s fast as he could put the bow and arrow down and run to the edge of the stream. He saw some blood but couldn't see the girl. He looked into the stream and suddenly felt enveloped in the cold.
