The Hunt Begins part 1

472 Words
As soon as Joseph set foot inside the coffee shop he knew something was wrong. That is until he saw the person working the cash register. He couldn't believe his eyes. There she was, the witch he had just been hired to kill minutes ago. They were fairly close to the Witch Woods so it made sense for her to be comfortable around here.  He tried looking at her hands to see if she had anything to hide the mark and sure enough she did.  He  "No way it can be this easy.  I just got the job and suddenly there she is." Joseph whispered to himself as he got in line. He needed to come up with a plan to get her and fast. There was no way that they could cause a scene here. Joseph knew that if he were to try to catch her in public bystanders would be harmed. He may be a witch hunter but he still didn't want to harm innocent people.   While trying to think of his plan he heard someone call out his name. He looked up and saw that she was the one that had been calling his name. He walked over and just as he grabbed the cup from her she said " Hey um, so I usually don't do this but my shift ends in like two minutes for my lunch, would you like to hang out?" He couldn't believe it. It couldn't be that easy, could it?  " Uh sure, do you want me to just wait in here or something?" Joseph responded. "Yeah, I'll be out in just a few minutes." She responded. He left and sat at a table near the entrance. Why would she ask that" She's a witch shouldn't she be more careful being around people she didn't know? Joseph's thoughts were passing a mile a minute trying to make sense of his hunt ending so quickly. Then his thoughts were interrupted by her tapping his shoulder.  "I'm off now. Let's go. I have an idea of a place that I think you'll enjoy." She said happily. Joseph could tell she was nervous. She was fidgety and could barely hold eye contact for more than a few seconds at a time. They walked in silence while Joseph tried to come up with a plan to capture her. "Oh by the way my name's Rosalyn. Sorry I didn't tell you when I asked. I was just nervous. I don't usually ask people out of the cafe." She said as they were getting closer to the witch woods.  I have to do it now, he thought while reaching into his backpack and pulling out a small discreet taser. "Oh, that's a nice name." He replied to her as he took it out and truck her with the taser.
