THIRTY-FIVE The camp was pitch dark by the time Jason and Melissa returned. The fire had burned down to embers, and it looked like all the other girls had gone to bed. "You know the one thing I miss, living out here?" Melissa whispered. "Hot showers, a phone, internet access and having a fridge?" Jason suggested, wondering which one she'd pick. She'd told plenty of stories about her geology fieldwork on the trip back, so he knew she was no stranger to camping. "It's having decent lights at night."
