It was official. I had become one of those bitter singles who spat at the idea of romance and glowered at every happy couple who past them. This realisation came to me when I became annoyed at pack members who disappeared for weeks at a time with their mates. The pack was crawling with new pups too.
Even Darcie’s presence began to grind at my temper. There was nothing wrong with her. She stayed quiet, hardly appeared, and quite honestly some days I forgot she was here still. But when I did see, it was a reminder of why her father made us meet.
It was a reminder of Elouise.
