Chapter 06 Elouise’s POV All I could smell was coffee and pastries as I worked. It was as good as a distraction as any, allowing me to focus on being hungry than the reality of my life. I tried to focus on the smells so I could drown out the sound of our regular boys sitting in the corner booth. Deep breaths. Very deep breaths. There were seven boys, maybe in their last year of secondary school judging by their height, smell and patchy facial hair. They all wore a team uniform, but I couldn’t tell what sport it was for.
