Chapter 8: Christmas in February
IT WAS LIKE WAKING up to Christmas.
The day held promises, the day held unwrapped presents under trees that swayed and danced to the rhythm of the dusty harmattan wind. Meanwhile, Christmas was over a month and half ago, and yet even more exhilarating was this particular day than any other day Somtoo had lived.
