Irene: “Here you go, Irene.” Chiara hands the mug of fresh steaming coffee to me as she takes a seat. “Thank you,” I accept it gratefully and take a sip, but the gulp does nothing to add to the bitterness that’s burning in the back of my throat. “Why don’t you start by telling us everything that happened?” Gia asks, planting her hand on the table as she, Naya and Chiara all listen attentively. I ended up missing lunch with Enrique, because hell I don’t think I can stand sitting beside him and trying to act like everything is okay, it makes it so f*****g worse.
