“Why are you grinning like an i***t?” The darkness towers over me, his dark eyes looking at me, he’s holding a mug of coffee with his real initials written on it. He’s already dressed in a charcoal suit for what he has to do today.
I place my phone aside, scowling. “None of your concern.” I tell him, but as always, he can read right through me. I think that’s why he picked me in the first place, because he could read and see me. It’s funny because no one can read me, except the darkness.
“Are you talking with a woman?” There’s a hint of mystery and something else I don’t like in his voice, he walks over to the fridge, pulls it open and grabs a pumpkin spice drink. “Really?”
