  Throughout dinner, Ethan seemed determined to make me as uncomfortable as possible. He peppered the conversation with subtle innuendos and loaded comments, each one making me want to sink further into my chair.   "You know, Grandmother," Ethan said at one point, his voice deceptively casual, "I think I might have found a solution to your concerns about my future."   Mrs. Chen perked up immediately. "Oh?
