  I blinked in surprise, remembering the incident from earlier. "The ring you gave Lisa to hold while you were on air? I haven't touched it. I don't even know where Lisa is."   Hannah stepped between us, her expression stern. "These are serious accusations, Elaine. Do you have any proof?"   Elaine faltered for a moment, then seemed to rally. "She was in my dressing room earlier, using my hairdryer without permission. She had the opportunity!"   I could see the crowd growing, whispers and speculative glances thrown my way. This was wrong – very bad. If this accusation stuck, my chance at this job and building a better life for Leo could disappear instantly.   "Ms. Black," I said, turning to Hannah, "I did use Ms. Woods' hairdryer earlier, but it was with her assistant Lisa's permission.
