New friends and messy lives

SIA’S POV The next week went by pretty uneventfully. I still felt like someone is watching me from time to time but found nothing or no one to follow me. I even shared this with Lisa. She laughed it off saying I was just being paranoid. I really hope she is right. But I felt like I know who was behind getting me followed. That is if someone was following me in the first place. After classes ended on Friday, I was heading towards the library to wait till Lisa’s class ended when I heard someone calling me. Eric, a boy from my History class ran over to me as I turned around. He was out of breath from running by the time he reached me. Taking a few long breath he said, “I thought you won’t stop. I have been calling you for a while.” I cringed mentally. “Yeah, I got lost in thoughts….. sorry. I do that sometimes.” “I can see that.” Then he took something out of his backpack. “ Here, you left this in Mr. Monrow’s class. Been trying to find you since then.” I looked at what he was holding and it was my book on Mayan civilization. I really liked that book. “Thank you so much, Eric. I would have lost my mind thinking about where I left it if I hadn’t got it back.” He laughed at that. It was a cute laugh. “So all set for the holidays?” “Yeah I’m spending this holiday with my mom. She lives about a hour away. What about you? Going to hometown?” “Yes, my family is in Texas. I’m visiting. Got any weekend plans before going home?” Home…… moms home. I’m not sure if it’s my home yet. I hoping it is. “yeah actually. I’m going to this club named ‘Flame’ with Lisa, my roommate tomorrow.” Then I remember the book he just returned to me. “In fact, why don’t you join us?” “Me? Oh don’t let me crash your girls night out.” Though I can clearly see in his eyes he wants to join us. “Why not? It’s not really a girls night. We could all have fun. Plus, you could meet Lisa. She is really cool. And it also happens to be my birthday. So the party is totally on me.” “Holy s**t, it’s your birthday? Then I have to come.” “All right give me your number. I’ll text you the time and address.” He looked at me weirdly…. “What?” “Are you serious? Everyone knows where ‘Flame’ is. You just text me the time." Taking my phone he added his number on my phone and we said out goodbyes. Pleased with my progress in making a new friends I happily went on my way to library. As I was walking I was feeling that feeling again. Like I’m being fallowed. Turning around I found nothing, but as I was turning I noticed the same car from a week ago. Is that car following me? I really wanted to go to the car and knock on the window. But I wasn’t that big of a badass. So I just hurried on my way and got to the library. Once inside I went to the far end where no one can hear me and dialed the number I didn’t want to call ever again. After 4 rings the call was finally answered. “Alexia, I didn’t expect a call from you, since you have been ignoring all my attempts to reach you.” “Cut the crap, dad. Did you send people to follow me around?” “Follow you? No, I didn’t. Although I am curious as to why you would think that.” I knew he was not lying. He might be a bustard but he was no liar. With a sigh I said, “Just a feeling I have been having. Could Maddox send people to follow me around?” My father was silent for a while then said, “I don’t know of him doing so, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he did. And neither should you. He is after all, a man of words. He said he wants you. He will get you, you know that.” Anger and disgust filled me. This was my father. He had no problem reminding me how royally he screwed me over. “ Don’t you feel even a little sad? How can you be so cruel? I am your daughter.” “And I am your father. But you seem to forget that the moment I needed your assistance.” Assistance? Is he for real? God, I needed to hang up….. “You know what? Go to hell.” With that I cut the call and opened my book. I needed to forget about these things. Too much stress is really taking it’s toll on me. I knew exactly what I needed. I needed to get laid. So tonight I’m going to go out with my friends and have lots of fun and hopefully have a perfect night to forget about this mess that is my life.....
