Chapter 2

Millicent's POV

I ran for miles until I got to Kanes house. My parents already had guards outside his house. I was screwed. I needed someway to get his attention without the guards seeing me or killing him.

‘Millie, I don’t know if this will work but try mind linking him. We’re not in the same pack but since we’re mates it might work.’ My wolf told me.

‘Kane, this is Millie. Please if you can hear me my parents sent guards to kill you. Please I hope you can hear me.’ I said hoping he could hear me.

‘Millie? Did you finally change into your wolf?’ Kane asked me with excitement.

‘Kane thank god. I’m in the forest right outside your house. My parents sent people to kill you because I guess we’re mates. You need to get out of there and go into hiding. Meet me out here. I’ll be waiting.’ I told Kane.

‘Millie, I’ll meet you as soon as I can. I think I have a way out. I can’t wait to kiss you.’ He told me and I started to blush.

‘Ohh I can’t wait to meet our mate. He must be handsome. He sounds handsome.’ My wolf told me.

I sat by the tree outside his house waiting for him to come. The guards haven’t moved so that’s a good sign.

‘Millie? I’m right behind you.’ I turned around to Kanes wolf. His wolf was huge and black. Blue eyes that shined like the moon.

‘Kane, you made it out. We need to find a hiding place for you so my parents don’t kill you.’ I informed him.

‘I informed my mom of what is going on. She is at the castle setting up for your party Millie. I informed her not to come home for the foreseeable future.’ Kane informed me.

‘Look, I’m not sure what’s next but we really need to get out of here before the guards see us.’ I told Kane.

We started running in the complete opposite direction of the castle. Kane said he has a place that nobody knows where it is. It’s underground and he can hide out there until we know what to do next. I needed to get back to my room before my parents notice I am gone. We finally got to his hiding spot. It was under ground and hidden quite well. He turned back into his human self and went into the hiding place.

“Millie, I love you, I always have it, broke me to leave you the way I did. Trust me it broke me.” Kane said with sorrow in his voice.

I knew that he had always loved me every day I spent without him was agonizing pain. It felt right to be in his presence. He smelled of lilacs and birch. His smell was so intoxicating.

“Kane, I love you too. I always knew you were the one for me. I need you.” I told him.

Kane cupped my cheek and smiled. He pulled me in and kissed me. With his tongue he asked for permission to enter my mouth. I granted and together we explored each other’s mouths passionately. It was amazing. I put my arms around his neck and he put his hands on my hips pulling me closer to him. He grabbed my thighs and lifted me up and I put my legs around him. He pushed me against the wall and started kissing my neck and then my shoulder which felt like fire and ice. His kissed and sucked at a specific spot on my collar bone it almost felt like an orgasm.

“Millie, I need and want to mark you to make you mine. I need you. All of you. Please allow me to. I can’t wait.” Kane begged for my answer. I knew I needed to get back but I didn’t want to be away from him. Him marking me definitely meant there was no going back. I didn’t know what to do.

“Kane I want you to I really do. But is now a good time?” I asked him. He seemed disappointed and I hated that I did that to him.

‘Millie, please say yes. We need the mate bond it will make both of us strong and your parents won’t be able to defeat us.’ My wolf informed me.

‘I’m afraid. I know nothing about being a wolf. I’ve been trained my whole life to be a vampire.’ I told my wolf.

‘Millie, Kane will be there for us. We love him. Let him do this. Please.’ My wolf begged me.

“Yes Kane, mark me.” I told him.

As soon as he had my permission he let his fangs out and bit me on the sweet spot. It was like a firework explosion. It felt amazing. As soon as he finished he told me it was my turn to mark him. I let my fangs out and bit him in his sweet spot too. It was fireworks all over again the most magical thing someone could do and I was happy. We were officially bonded forever and now safe from my parents. They were not going to be happy when they find out we marked each other. I no longer could be a vampire. I did not know if that was a good thing or a bad thing. All I knew was his scent and my scent were intertwined and thank god vampires could not smell like a wolf can.

My life was forever changed now. I had to get back to the castle though. Before my parents knew I left and was marked. I did not know how I was going to hide this but I knew that I felt stronger. Anything they had planned on doing. I knew I was would be stronger then them.

"Kane, I really must go. I need to be in my room when my parents wake up. I will send someone to get a message to you. I love you." I told him as I climbed out of the hole and changed back into my wolf heading home to what would be probably the last time I would be.

I ran as fast as I could. I saw light upon the horizon. I made it back to the castle in time. I snuck in trough the servants quarters because I knew they would be up for the day. I made it back to my room to my shock it was unlocked and opened. I was too late my parents were in my room.

"Millicent is that you?" I heard a voice call out. I see Maggie on my bed.

"Thank goddess it is just you Maggie." I sigh in relief.

"You're lucky it was me. Mom and Dad had me come check on you. I just got here. Did you get Kane to a safe place?" Maggie asked me. I was shocked at that. I did not know what to say.

"Why do you ask? Are you not on mom and dad's side?" I ask hoping the answer would be yes.

"No...Mitch and I are not on their side. We found out who we were way before you did. We are wolves Millie. We pretended to drink our parents blood the night of our eighteenth birthday." Maggie informs me. "Kane told us about our past and who we are, who you are Millie. Unfortunately now is not the time to talk about that. We will in due time but for now we need a plan to get you out of here and Kane in a safer place." Maggie told me.

"Okay. What do we do?" I asked Maggie.

"Mitch and I have a plan, for now you are going to tell mom and dad that you plan to reject Kane." Maggie told me.

I felt a pit in my stomach at those words. I felt sick thinking that I had to pretend that I was going to reject him. I was ready for my future with him but we have a long road ahead of us.

"Millie, get dressed. Mom and dad want to see you. Remember you need to tell them that you are rejecting him. Also cover up your mark. They might not be able to smell that you were marked but they can see that it happened. " Maggie informed me.

I walked into my room and looked in the mirror. I saw the mark Kane left, it looked so beautiful. Like lightning during a thunderstorm. I touched it knowing I was forever going to be Kane's and he mine.

Kane's POV

We kissed goodbye as I watched my mate climb out of the hole I was now stuck in until we had a plan. I did not even have time to tell her about her past and what her parents did to her actual parents and our village. I remember always being told that Millicent was going to be the most fearsome Luna because she was born under the wolf moon. Meaning she was going to have more powers than an Alpha normally has. With her being my mate that means I was going to be Alpha. I did not know how to take that in. I do not think I could handle being Alpha however I did know that having Millie by my side I would have everything I need as she would be my Luna.

A full 24 hours have lapsed since seeing Millie and the bond between us was becoming stronger though I missed her dearly. I heard footsteps above me and I knew someone was there. I shifted in to my wolf ready for whoever it was going to be.

'Kane? Are you still down there? It is Mitch.' Mitch called to me through the mind link.

'Mitch? Dammit you scared the living hell out of me. Yes come down I am here.' I informed Mitch.

"Dude calm down and change back." Mitch said throwing clothes in my direction.

"Thanks man. How is Millie? Is she okay?" I asked worriedly.

"Millie is fine. My parents had her party, they still do not know that you marked her. We are still working on a plan to get you somewhere safe. Until then Millie has our parents believing that she is going to reject you." Mitch informed me.

Somehow even though I know that will not happen I felt sad about being rejected. Especially since we marked each other the bond cannot be broken not even death. She cannot be a vampire at all.

"Thanks Mitch. We still need to tell her about the past and what happened. She really needs to know how much your parents are monsters." I told him.

"I know and we will once we get her out of the castle and you both in a safe place." Mitch told me.

I knew this was going to be a long battle but it was time. Werewolves every where were about to get revenge on those wretched vampires. King and Queen mean nothing when you are trying to make the werewolf population extinct.

"Mitch can you tell Millie something for me?" I asked him hoping he would say yes.

"Of course, which reminds me. Millie had something she wanted to say to you too. She wants you to know that what is coming do not hold back, be strong. Understand that what I am doing is for the greater good of our species. She also says that your love is strong and will with stand anything our parents try to make her do." Mitch says to me as I take in every word.

"Can you tell her that I love her and cannot wait to be by her side. I miss her so much Mitch. It hurts." I tell him with a sigh of sadness.

"Of course I can. I got to head back to the castle. I will be back tomorrow with a plan hopefully." Mitch tells me as he heads out of the hole.

I was left alone again to my thoughts. Hopefully tomorrow we can get started on ending the reign of the rotten vampires who destroyed my life.

I waited for Mitch to return the next day. He never showed. I was getting inpatient with this. I needed some fresh air but I knew there were guards outside looking for me. I decided to risk it. My wolf needed to stretch and run. I peek my head through the opening and do not see anyone. I wait to hear if there people around. The ghost was clear. I got out of the hole and stretched. Right as I was about to turn in to my wolf. I was grabbed and blind folded.
